The Guilty Girl's Handbook

A was determined to ruin all their lives one by one. A had crashed a car into Emily's house so now she and her mother were living in a hotel, and Hanna's mother was being transferred to a different location after her court judge refused to grant bail

And amidst all of this, Lily hadn't been able to tell anyone about her kiss with Mike, mainly out of fear that A would do something to him

Plus they still hadn't found Cece Drake yet which meant they weren't able to find Red Coat yet so the nightmare of looking over their shoulders continued

But also Caleb was getting frustrated because Hanna wouldn't speak to him "She isn't answering my calls." He sighed 

"She's really ragged right now." Spencer told him "She thought her mum was gonna get bail. We all did." 

"I just don't like her being alone, you know?" Caleb said 

"Well, she said that she's gonna call her dad." Spencer said 

"Come on. That's not any better than being alone, if you ask me." Lily chuckled 

"Look, I'm gonna cut after English and make sure she's not at home still hiding under my sheets. Okay?" Spencer said 

"How are the rest of you doing?" Caleb asked 

"We're just dandy." Lily said sarcastically 

"Lily... we drove by Emily's, okay?" Caleb stopped her "They're still pulling pieces of that car out of the living room. So, I'm gonna ask you again: How are you doing?"

"We're trying to stay positive. If "A" is escalating things, maybe it means that we're getting too close for comfort." Spencer said "Maybe you two and Toby are getting too close to Wilden's killer. Anyway, that number that you pulled from Nigel's cell phone, did you ever figure out who was on the other end?" 

"Somebody really smart." Caleb sighed "The number is assigned to three people and three addresses. All in New York." 

"Well, which one is real?" Lily asked 

"I don't know." He said "That's why Toby went to New York... to knock on some doors, see who answers." 

"Maybe Cece Drake." Lily added 

"Maybe." Caleb nodded and the bell rang, "Okay, Spencer, will you please just have Hanna call me?" 

"I will." Spencer nodded 

"Thank you." He smiled and he and Lily walked into their maths lesson

At the end of the school day Caleb had to go see Ashley Marin in prison since Hanna was struggling a lot with the idea of her mother being locked away from her, and Caleb wanted to try fix that bridge between the mother and daughter

So Lily used her time to face time her dad and brother, when they picked up she smiled at the sight of the other half of her family "Hello!"

"Hi, sweetie," Her father, Mark replied "It feels like it's been forever! How's everything over in the states?"

"Fine," She sighed "Mum's away again,"

"Sweetheart, I have told you time and time again that I will buy you a plane ticket and enroll you in school here," Mark said "I don't want you alone,"

"Well Caleb also lives with us, remember," Lily added "But he's out right now,"

"I just don't like the idea of you on your own," As if on cue, Teddy jumped up from the floor and crawled into Lily's lap, making her dad laugh "Okay I guess you aren't really alone,"

"Yeah I've got my little guard dog," She laughed "Although he isn't scary at all,"

"Yeah I guess," Mark chuckled "How are university plans going? Have you told your mum that you aren't going?"
