Grave New World

The five liars looked unrecognisable in the costumes they had found from a costume shop in Ravenswood which was open late. They each picked out an olden style costume and made their way out into the road, getting ready to go to the Ravenswood historical society celebrations

Lily was decked out in a dark red long dress, with a black corset and a black bolero hat

The party was being hosted in the cemetery so they made their way to the open gates "What kind of town throws a party in a graveyard?"

"Must be to honour their dead." Emily replied 

"Yeah, they can't do that without walking all over them?" Aria said 

"Guys, what if we see A before we find Alison?" Emily asked 

"There's five of us there's only one of him." Spencer said 

"Um, yeah, but that him might be carrying a weapon." Aria hissed "All we've got are these 20-pound hats." 

"Well, I can't run from the enemy. This girdle is cutting off my air supply." Hanna said 

"It's a corset." 

"It's torture. People actually wore this crap? I'm never complaining again about a sports bra." Spencer rolled her eyes at the blonde and pushed open the cemetery gates.

Lily couldn't will her feet to move and she felt like her breath was caught in her throat "Wait." She said and the other girls looked at her "I can't do this."

"We have to get to Alison before A does. We can't back off." Spencer said 

"It's not A that I'm scared of." She replied "I don't know if I'm ready to see Alison." 

"We already have." Aria said and held out her hand "Come on." Lily held the short girl's hand tightly and they made their way into the graveyard, their eyes casting over the headstones and tombs they saw 

"Man, people have been croaking in this town a long time." Hanna whispered

"It happens." Spencer said 

Aria suddenly jumped when she looked at one of the graves "What are those? Are those fingers?"

Sticking out the ground where five brown things "They're mushrooms. Aria, get a grip." Spencer replied and they continued walking in silence until Aria's phone rang

"Wait, hold on." She whispered "Wait, it's Ezra. He might be worried about me." 

"Just don't tell him too much." Spencer warned and Aria picked up the call 

"Hey, there...Uh, look, it's actually not a great time to talk. I'm standing in a graveyard...I'm in Ravenswood. But I'll call you later, okay?...Yeah, I will. I promise. Bye." She hung up and turned back to the girls "Come on."

They walked further into the graveyard, unaware of the man watching them from nearby

They found their way into a tent where drinks and food were being served and watched everyone interacting from the corner "Why would Ali come to this party like this?" 

"Who knows? Maybe it has something to do with Mrs. Grunwald." Spencer said, her eyes drifting across the crowd "You guys, look. Right over there. Do you see him?" 

"See who?" Hanna asked and Spencer pointed to a man dressed in an old military uniform

"The dude standing by himself. He's wearing that vintage uniform." She pointed out and all the girls turned around subtly, except for one "Hanna, don't stare!" 

"Do you want me to look or not?" She replied 

"Oh, my God. Is that Board Shorts?" Aria asked
