Let the Water Hold Me Down

After the failed surprise party for Caleb the girls had hurried to take Hanna back to Spencer's since her family was out of town. While Hanna had a hot shower the girls lit the fire and she came downstairs wrapped in a dressing robe to sit by the warmth

"Here's some aspirin." Aria offered her "You want me to make you some soup?" 

"Thanks, but I'm not hungry." Hanna said 

"You want a blanket?" Spencer asked 

"Sure." She said and Spencer wrapped it around her shoulders 

"Here's your bag." Emily handed it to her "I think Caleb called. Your phone was making noise." 

"Han?" Lily said cautiously "Now, I know that you might not be ready to talk about this but the sheriff said they're going to drag the lake in the morning,"

"Lucas isn't in the lake." Hanna aid numbly 

"He didn't come up to shore. We waited." Emily said 

"He knows how to swim, all right?" Hanna snapped "He's out there somewhere. I can feel it." 

"I-I still can't believe that Lucas would help "a."" Aria said 

"Why not?" Spencer shrugged "Jenna did the same thing with Caleb." 

""A" knows Lucas is close to Hanna." Emily added

"No, I-I get it, I just..." Aria sighed "Don't really see Lucas as being that violent." 

"He can be." Hanna said "Lucas was the one who destroyed Alison's memorial. I found out the night I got out of the hospital." 

"Why didn't you tell us?" Lily asked 

"Told me to keep a secret." She shrugged 

"Why?" 

"To protect him." She said "He's been through a lot. Alison really tortured him." 

"Maybe it's time to start protecting you." Spencer said 

"I have a headache." Hanna sighed and put the aspirins in her mouth before taking her water bottle out of her bag and raising to her lips. But the water in it was brown. 

"Hanna, don't drink that!" Lily cried but it was already in her mouth "That's lake water." 

"Too late." Hanna grimaced 

"How did that get in there?" Aria asked 

"The bag was outside in the car." Emily said 

"But all of us were in here." 

"Yeah, Lucas wasn't." Spencer said "Maybe he just wants to finish what he started." Hanna's phone beeped and she read it out to them 

"No fun chugging lake water, is it? Choke on this, bitch. "A.""

"I really hate this bitch," Lily sighed. "Will you be okay, Hanna?"

"Yeah," She nodded and Lily gave her a long hug before Caleb came to pick her up to drive her home.

Lily couldn't sleep that night. She was awake worried about Lucas and Hanna, they thought they had been getting close to A but it turned out A was a step ahead of them again. A was a group of people now and that put them more at risk than ever.

And the next 2 days passed in exactly the same manner
