Birds of a Feather

"Do we really believe that Jenna was off on a joyride that night?" Aria asked the girls. They had gone out to dinner together at the Mystic Grille the day after finding out Jenna wasn't really blind to try see if they could come up with any final explanation to what had happened to Emily that night

"It was her plan to take Emily to Ali's grave all along." Spencer replied 

"Seemed to me like she was scared of someone." Emily added 

"And it seemed like she was blind for five months when she wasn't." Aria pointed out, really not trusting Jenna's reasoning for not telling them the truth 

"For purposes of my head not exploding, could we just say that she is telling the truth?" Hanna interrupted

"Well, that would mean that we would cross her off the new "A" list." Spencer said

"Who's still on it?" Lily asked

"Lucas?" 

"No way." Hanna said "He might be a little unhinged lately, but he's not capable of digging up a grave." 

"Guys, all roads lead back to the black swan." Spencer added "We know that she was working with Mona, the sketches were in her lair.

"Spencer," Melissa called over to their table "Mum wants to know if you want anything else." 

"Uh, no. Thank you, mum." Melissa nodded and turned back around to their mother 

"Melissa looks great." Lily whispered 

"Yeah, she's back to being size too skinny." The other 4 looked at Hanna, confused by the implying tone she held in her voice "Black swan skinny? Think about it. We know that she lied about when she lost her baby."

"You think that she was pretending to be pregnant for that long?" Lily asked 

"No. That's, like, months." Spencer said "There's no way. She wouldn't do that to my parents." 

"Who else could it be?" Emily asked 

"Mona started talking again, so maybe she can give me some answers." Hanna suggested and the group fell into a comfortable silence before their eyes were drawn to the Grille door opening as Jason stepped inside

"Oh this aught to be good," Lily sighed, knowing he was here to confront Veronica Hastings

"You two still aren't talking?" Emily asked

"Unless you count a good morning text, no," The brunette replied with a roll of her eyes

Jason ignored his girlfriend and her friends who were all watching him, making his way straight towards Melissa and Veronica Hastings "Did you really think you could avoid me forever?" His loud tone was gathering attention from the whole restaurant "How could you defend Garrett?" 

"Let's not have this conversation here." Veronica sighed 

"Oh, it doesn't bother you that he murdered my sister?" Jason snapped 

"Look, I understand you're upset, but this isn't the place." She said

"Just tell me why you're doing it." 

"Everyone deserves a competent legal defence." Veronica shrugged 

"You sure that's the only reason?" Jason asked accusingly and Melissa glared at him 

"Let the process play out, Jason. Focus on taking care of your family and yourself." Veronica said

"If you won't tell me why you're doing it at least tell me why my girlfriend is defending this too," He added and all of the girls looked at Lily who kept her eyes firmly on Jason, glaring daggers into the back of his head
