The next evening the five liars had gone to meet up at the brew so Lily could explain the situation about Paige and the note about Alison to them

"So wait. You think that Paige gave that note to the police?" Aria asked 

"We don't think, we know. I mean it was her handwriting and her stationery." Lily explained 

"Em, have you spoken to her yet?" Aria asked 

"She's in Maine visiting her family." 

"You guys, if the police know that Ali is alive-"

"Then we're all gonna get dragged in that precinct." Hanna sighed 

"Honestly, I'm a lot more worried about Alison than I'm about us." Emily said

"So what are we gonna say when the cops ask whose bones are in Ali's grave?" Hanna asked 

"That we don't know." Aria said

"You guys, if the cops are gonna question anybody, it's gonna be me." Spencer interrupted "I'm the one who Ali's mum saw with that shovel."

"But Ali's alive, Spencer." Aria said 

"Yeah, and somebody else isn't." She whispered "And I'm the one who might have bashed in the skull of a stranger."

"Okay, you really need to eat something. Hanna, give her your cookie." Lily said

"You give her your cookie. I'm hungry." Hanna pouted 

"Aria, face it. That's why Ali's mum has been stalking us ever since Mona put on a straitjacket." Spencer continued 

"Okay, let's back up for a second. I get that Mrs. DiLaurentis is really scary, but I'm not buying that she's the devil." She replied 

"I agree." Emily nodded "A knows Ali's alive. If she knew that why would she waste her energy torturing us instead of bringing her daughter back home?"

"Maybe because she thinks Ali won't be safe until I'm behind bars." Spencer mumbled

"Okay, you do need this more than I do." Hanna said and slid her cookie over to her 

"Look, I'm not saying she hasn't had help, okay." Spencer said 

"I stayed at that house, Spencer." Emily replied 

"Yeah, and you were almost kebob-ed with a knitting needle." She argued 

"Um, that was me." Aria pointed out 

"I was there when she got the divorce papers, okay. She's been through hell." Emily snapped

"Yeah, and that may also be the birthplace on her passport." Spencer muttered 

"I always knew she was a witch. Fitz is just confirming it." Hanna nodded 

"Yeah, and we all know how much we can trust him." Lily scoffed and stood up 

"Where are you going?" Spencer asked 

"Home. And you're my ride, and Em came with us. Can we please go?" She asked and walked out without waiting for an answer. Emily and Spencer followed her out into the dark 

Before they could get into Spencer's car Lily spotted a familiar face across the street and froze suddenly. Emily and Spencer hurried over and saw who she was looking at "Is that-" 

"Jason?" Emily whispered

The two girls looked at Lily, cautious of what her reaction would be to seeing him. They expected her to hide or walk away. So they were certainly surprised when she began to walk towards him "Jason!" She called "Jason."
