The Silence of E. Lamb

The five liars were surprised when they saw Lily come into the bathroom at school two days later since she hadn't shown up yesterday and none of them had heard from her

"Where the hell were you?" Spencer asked her

"Um, family crisis" Lily lied, not feeling like talking about her and Jason having sex, in front of Ali "What's going on?"

"My mum invited you all over for dinner tonight" Emily said

"All of us? What does your mum want with all of us?" She asked 

"Well, I think she's mostly asking Ali." Emily admitted 

"That's not like your mum." Ali sighed "She's a planner." 

"Okay, I'm pretty sure Emily's mum is not one of Mona's secret ninjas." Hanna said "Are we supposed to be suspicious of everyone now?" 

"It saves time." She shrugged 

"Well, I don't think I'm gonna be finished at Radley. I can't just put that Bethany drawing up on the bulletin board with my phone number. It's gonna take a while." Aria explained 

"A is not gonna give us a while." Spencer said 

"Hey, are you going to Ezra's later to help him move his research and spy stuff?" Aria asked her 

"Sure." She nodded "Look, Em, I will try to make it, but-" 

"Can you put your mum off?" Ali asked Emily 

"No, not without an epic excuse." She said 

"Okay. Then we'll just do it, get it over with." Ali said 

"Your wish is our command." Hanna sighed 

"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked 

"I have to go to class." Hanna said and walked out, and Lily went with her to get to french on time since she hadn't been in at all the day before

And then at lunch Lily and Emily ate together since Ali was doing some make up tests, and the others had Spanish which neither of them took

"I can't come tonight by the way," Lily said "I'm sorry but I'm busy"

"With what?" Emily asked and Lily opened her mouth to answer but sighed and looked down instead "What's going on with you?"

"Nothing I um," She swallowed "I'm seeing Jason tonight"

"Jason D?" She asked and Lily nodded "I saw you guys together at my house, but are you back together now or something?"

"I don't know" She groaned "But I kind of slept with him?"

"What?" She gasped

"Yeah and when I say kind of I mean I definitely did" Lily added

"Oh my god" Emily said "Is that why you didn't come in yesterday?" Lily nodded "Wow. I didn't expect that. What about Holbrook?"

"He's nice and he made me laugh but Jason is Jason" Lily said "I've been in love with him forever and he just makes me so happy"

"So what are you doing tonight?" Emily asked

"We're having dinner and I need to talk to him about what we are now" She explained

So after school Lily took a long shower and changed into a nice top and jeans before making her way back out to Philly to Jason's apartment

When she walked inside she found that Jason had already set out the table with two plates and he had lit candles 

"Wow" She smiled

"I was trying to be romantic" He grinned and she sat at the table with him. As they ate they laughed about old memories from their past, and it felt as though they had spent no time apart

And after their dinner they were curled up on his sofa when Lily decided to turn the conversation serious "Jase" She said and he hummed to let her know he was listening "What are we?" She asked

"What do you mean?" He asked

"I mean are we just sleeping together or what?" She asked again 

Jason put their glasses of wine on the coffee table before turning to her and taking her hands in his "We're me and you, we always have been"

"Yes but what does that mean?" She sighed

Jason cupped her cheek in his hand "I'm yours, Lil, I have been since the moment I laid eyes on you. And if you'll have me back then I'd love to be with you again,"

"Then will you be my boyfriend, Jason Dilaurentis?" Lily asked

"I'd love to, Lily Jackson" He replied and pressed their lips together

Lily would have happily spent the rest of the night in his arms but she got an SOS from Spencer so she had to leave Jason and drive back to the Hastings house where she found Spencer, Aria, and Emily

"Look at this," Spencer passed them an iPad "It's security camera footage from my garden" It was paused on a moment which showed Alison in her garden

"That is not how she was dressed when she left." Emily said 

"Where is Ali going?" Lily asked "Did you see her come back?" 

"No. Not yet." 

"Well, how was she acting when she left your house tonight?" Aria asked Emily

"Hard to tell, she left pretty early." She replied "Might have been Hanna's fault though. She was drinking." 

"In front of your mum?" Aria asked

"Yeah, I had to kick her out." She said "She knows I'm mad. She might not even show up." 

"She has to show up." Spencer said "We have to figure out what Ali's up to." All four of their phones chimed so they picked them up and opened the message, already knowing who it was going to be from

New York, New York, it's a hell of a town. Ali's keeping secrets. Maybe that's because of Hanna's big mouth. - A

As if on cue Hanna walked in and the four girls eyed her suspiciously "Hey. Sorry, you guys, I ran into Caleb and we had a few things to talk about. What did I miss?"

"Did you just get the text that came in? It's from A." Aria said 

"No." she replied 

"Are you sure?" Emily asked "Check your phone."

Hanna did and found nothing "I don't know what text you're talking about." So Spencer passed her her phone so she could read it "New York, New York, it's a hell of a town. Ali's keeping secrets. Maybe that's because of Hanna's big mouth." 

"Care to fill us in?" Spencer asked and Hanna looked like a deer caught in headlights
