When Hanna, Mona, and Lily heard from the others after finding the phone, they had not been expecting to hear what they did
Toby had done some digging and discovered Elliot Rollins had been a doctor who died 15 years ago, so the man Ali had married was only using the name as an alias, which explained why Jenna had called him Archer. Also, the police had discovered 'Elliot' was 'missing' and it was their top priority to find him, so all the girls were trying to keep their heads low
The only good news recently was Alison's release from Welby. But even that had come with a downside, that downside being Mary Drake going to stay with Alison. But Alison had promised she would use it as an opportunity to discover why she was working with Elliot
Hanna had been throwing herself into her plans for her new company, with the help of Lucas. And Lily had been spending a lot more of her time with Jason and Caleb. Caleb had told her about how he and Spencer broke up, but also that on the night Hanna was kidnapped, he had kissed Hanna
But Caleb had also gone out of town and Lily was under strict instruction not to tell Hanna or Spencer where he was, because according to him he just needed time away, which she understood
For a few days it had been as if the drama of A.D. and the unknown messenger and Rollins was over
But then Aria came bursting into her living room
"What happened?"
"Rollins knew Alison didn't kill Charlotte" she said "The night they left Welby he texted some phone number telling them. So Emily texted saying she wanted to meet, and they replied asking to meet at the usual spot. And Mona found an apartment address where Rollins's phone has been being used so we're guessing that's it. We're going to head there now if you want to join"
"Of course," Lily said and grabbed her shoulder bag from the hook and made her way outside with Aria
Emily was waiting in the driver's seat of her car, so the pair joined her, before they started to drive off
When they got to the apartment building Aria tipped the manager to not tell anyone they had come to visit before he let them upstairs so they headed up in the lift until they found the apartment door and Aria opened it
Inside was definitely the most disgusting apartment Lily had ever seen. The kitchen was filled with dirty dishes and cutlery and glasses, the floor was littered with rubbish, the walls were grubby, and the furniture was tattered and dusty
"What a dump." Emily said as they looked around "It's like Rollins was two different people."
"Yeah, or someone else was living here." Lily suggested
"Well, whoever it is is a slob." she frowned "The sink is disgusting."
The kitchen sink was filled to the brim with dishes and bits of food littered the counter and remaining water
"Hey, help me pull down the Murphy bed." Aria said. They pushed open the sliding doors to it and started to pull it down, but the bed wouldn't move out much, stuck on something.
"It's stuck." Emily sighed and they gave up, letting the bed spring back against the wall. But Lily narrowed her eyes at it and gripped the metal, giving it one harsh tug and sure enough the bed fell away to the floor
But something rolled off the bed and onto the floor
"Oh, my god!" Aria shrieked "It's a head. It's a head. It's a head."
"Whose head?" asked Emily
"I don't know. I don't wanna know. I can't look at that." Aria whimpered. Lily peered at it and crouched down next to it "No, don't touch it."
