Father Knows Best

2 days later Spencer found out that Melissa wasn't A, she had been going to Garrett to talk to him after Ian's death and the only times she had texted Alison was to tell her to back off Ian and leave their relationship alone

But tonight was the father/daughter dance which Lily was beyond sick of hearing about by the end of her first lesson

"Hey, Lily," Mike said and set his food down in front of her at lunch

"Hi," She smiled

"You excited?" He asked

"For what?"

"The father/daughter dance tomorrow night," He said "I'm deejaying so I'll see you there,"

"Mike, my parents are divorced and my dad lives in England, I'm not going to a father/daughter dance," She said

"Oh, sorry,"

"Don't worry about it," She laughed "I'd rather not go anyway,"

"So what are you going to do tomorrow night?" He asked

"Probably watch a movie," She shrugged

"I mean I could always skip if you want to hang out," He offered

"Thanks, Mike but I'll probably just sleep. Besides, you should enjoy yourself at the dance ," She said

"I'll try," He rolled his eyes and she laughed.

Across the dining hall the other 4 girls were sat together at their usual table "Y'know, I never really knew Mike and Lily were that close," Spencer said "I mean I know that you said she helped him out when he went through his little criminal phase but they're still really close,"

"Yeah," Aria said "I mean I knew they stayed in touch while we were in Iceland but yeah, Mike likes talking to someone who's been through similar things to him,"

"Does he like talking to her or does he like her though?" Hanna asked

"Hanna!" Aria whispered

"What? I'm just saying, she's hot and he's a teenage boy, at that age the idea of dating an older girl is like heaven," She shrugged

"It doesn't matter because Lily's still dating Jason anyway," Emily said

"Ugh," Spencer scoffed "I can't believe she actually loves that creep,"

"Spence," Hanna sighed "She's happy with him, leave them be,"

"But he might be dangerous-"

"That's for her to decide," Emily said "Not you,"

After school that day Lily went round to Jason's with Teddy and they took him on a walk. Jason loved those moments with Lily when he felt like they were an old married couple, it made him dream about the rest of his future with her

"How was school?" He asked as they walked hand-in-hand

"Boring as hell," She groaned and he laughed "I swear all everyone was talking about is this stupid father/daughter dance tomorrow night,"

"I'm sorry," he said sympathetically 

"It's fine," She shrugged "I love my dad and I'm not angry at him for not living here but I'd rather not slow dance with him anyway,"

"I get it," he chuckled "I have to say one of the best bits of my life has always been not slow dancing with my parents at a school dance,"

"It's the worst thing ever," She laughed

"So what are you planning on doing tomorrow night?" He asked 

"Probably go round to yours and watch a movie," She shrugged
