Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares

It had been a month since the incident at Hanna's father's wedding and Veronica Hastings had negotiated with the police to only give the 4 girls community service and since Lily had been in hospital the police had no reason to involve her

Lily's injuries from the crash had healed well and she was now back to being fully functional which made her so much happier

But things weren't going well with her friends. Spencer and Emily had gotten into a massive fight during community service and now the entire friend group was on thin ice of breaking

"Bye," Jason leaned over the console to press a kiss to Lily's lips before she got out of his car and headed inside the school building

Her first 2 lessons flew by and after break she had English with the other girls. Lily took her seat in the back and watched Spencer go up to speak to Ella

"Um, this is my extra-credit report on Vonnegut." She handed the paper over

"Thank you." Ella said

"So it's okay?"

"I look forward to reading it." Ella smiled and Spencer turned around to head to her seat but Emily walked into the back of her and dropped her books

"Hey!" Emily snapped angrily

"Sorry." Spencer said and Emily angrily pushed the books out of Spencer's hands

"Stop it!" Ella shouted "I'm tired of making allowances for you guys. You're supposed to be friends. Now go sit down." The pair reluctantly picked up their books and headed to their seats

In truth Emily and Spencer were putting up a front for A, A was only agreeing to strike a deal with Emily so the other girls had to pretend to ice her out so A could think she had won Emily over

Spencer and the other girls had agreed to meet in the old greenhouse at 10pm and the only way to tell Emily in secret was for Spencer to leave it in a book and swap that book with Emily

So at 10pm that night the 5 girls snuck into the greenhouse together

"Look at this," Emily handed them her phone

You were always my favourite. Want to make a deal? - A

""A" took the bait." Emily grinned "We pulled it off. "A" totally think we're not friends any more."

"They think that we have real evidence." Spencer said

"Does it bother anybody that we don't actually have anything, we're just making it up?" Hanna asked

"But Jenna and Garrett don't know that." Lily grinned

"I just scares me that Emily's doing this alone." Hanna said

"She's not gonna be alone. We'll be outside." Aria explained

"Yeah, but it's just the five of us."

"Hanna, every time we ask someone for help, they end up collateral damage." Emily said "Like Dr. Sullivan."

"Or a traitor, like Garrett." Lily added

"It was so creepy to have to talk to him, but it was totally worth it to rattle the cage." Spencer said

"So tomorrow." Lily grinned and they all nodded "And everyone that's watching is going to believe that Emily totally went rogue and that she wants the box that Jason gave me."

"The one with the evidence..." Spencer added "That doesn't really exist."

"Are you sure that "A" is gonna follow Emily?" Hanna asked
