It had been a week since the fire at the Dilaurentis house, Lily had been dismissed from hospital 2 days after and Jason had moved into her house with her, her mother and Caleb
The girls had filled her in on what she had missed, Duncan had told Aria that he had flown Alison from Hilton head to an airstrip outside Philadelphia on the day she was killed which proved she hadn't been on a bus ride from her grandmother's that day, and that she had been around hours before they had seen her
"Guys, I figured it out." Spencer said as she rushed over to the other girls who were sitting at one of the courtyard tables "Alison took out a classified ad asking 'A' to meet her in Brookhaven, and 'A' responded. This was going on for like a month. Look. "Dear 'A, ' what's it gonna take to end this?" You need to stop. A.D."" She handed them one of the newspapers ""Hey, desperately seeking silence, who says I wanna end this? 'A.'""
"Let me see that." Aria said
"What's this one?" Emily asked
"It's the last paper before Labour Day weekend." Spencer said "Alison was set to meet 'A' at 235 Spruce Street."
"Why do I know that street?"
"Because we walked on it." Hanna said "The creepy doll hospital?"
"Guys." Emily whispered and pointed to the entrance to the courtyard
Jenna and Toby were walking in, Jenna was still wearing her sunglasses but no longer had the bandages or her stick "She took off the bandage." Spencer whispered
"She's not using the stick." Aria added
"Why is she still wearing the shades?" Hanna asked
"Hanna, stop staring." Emily whispered as Jenna and Toby approached their table
"Are they all here?" Jenna asked her step-brother
"Yes."
"Thanks, Toby." She said "I'll meet you inside." He nodded and left all the girls alone "Sorry to interrupt."
"Can you see or not?" Hanna interrupted
"Hanna." Spencer nudged her with her elbow. Jenna shook her head in answer to Hanna's question
"Wait, the surgery didn't...?"
"No, it didn't." She said, her voice cracking "I went in knowing the odds, so I can't be shocked. The funny thing is, I woke up this morning and, uh... I could see clearly. Just not with my eyes." They looked at each other in confusion "You could've left me in that smoky room, Hanna, but you... You didn't. Instead, you... You saved my life. And it made me realise that... That people can grow. So now it's my turn, and that's why I'm here. I'm here to... To apologise and to let go of the anger that's been holding me back. So can we just please... Move on?"
"What exactly are you apologising for, Jenna?" Emily asked
"For holding a grudge and, uh... For hating you." She said "We've all done things that we're not proud of. I know what you think of me. But you're wrong. I've never been the person you really need to fear."
As if she could see, her head turned towards Lily who swallowed and looked down at her fingers
"See you guys later," She said and got up
"Bye," Jenna also stood up and pulled out her extendable cane. She walked inside and Lily rushed in first so she wouldn't have to be around that girl any longer
"Hey," Mona whispered and sat down with the other girls "Guess who just texted me again,"
"What?" Hanna asked
