Of Late I Think of Rosewood

It had been five years since Lily said goodbye to her friends and got on a plane with Jason

Five years free. She never thought she would have that. But it had happened and now everything was different.

For once in her life she was as happy as could be.

Which was why she was so shocked to receive a letter from Rosewood

Dear Lily,

I can't believe it's been five years since I last saw you. We spent our whole childhoods connected at the hip and now I've never felt further from you. We went through so much together and even apart, it's bonded us for life.

But unfortunately, I'm not writing simply to tell you how much I miss you. I'm writing for someone else. Someone I love. Someone who needs me.

I know the court summoned you back to speak about Charlotte being released, but I'm asking to have one conversation with you before you speak. Please. You're my sister and I love you so please let me explain everything to you.

It could change everything.

Spencer, Hanna, Aria, Emily, Lily. I need you. Please

Lily had read that letter probably around a hundred times and even on her plane back to Rosewood she read it

In the seat next to her Jason pried the letter out of her hands "Reading it over and over again won't make it disappear"

"You don't know that," Lily replied teasingly and he rolled his eyes "Come on, do we really have to go?"

"Babe our plan lands in 20 minutes" He chuckled "It's a little late to back out now. Besides I thought you'd be excited to see your future sister-in-law after five years" He picked up her left hand and raised it to his lips, kissing the large engagement ring which sat on her ring finger

It was true, two years ago Jason had got down on one knee and proposed to Lily on the Eiffel Tower

The two of them had moved to Paris after that where Jason had found a job in a law firm and Lily was working as a marketing manager

But now they were being dragged back to Rosewood and although it was meant to be a short trip, Lily had a sinking feeling it would wind up being longer than they thought

When they got back to Lily's old house and unpacked, Jason had to do an online meeting for work so Lily headed out to the Brew where she would be meeting her old friends and as she walked in she saw the four of them already were

"Don't tell me you guys started the party without me?" She called and they all looked at her

"Lily!" She laughed as they each ran to hug her. Once they had greeted each other they sat down around the sofas and she ordered a latte

"Let me see the ring" was the first thing Spencer said to Lily who rolled her eyes but flashed her left hand and the girls all laughed "I can't believe you're engaged to my half brother. I mean we're actually going to be family"

"I know" Lily smiled and turned to Hanna "Could you imagine if we did a joint wedding?" Hanna was also engaged, to a man named Jordan

"So I suppose we're gonna need our passports to attend the weddings." Emily said 

"I haven't decided yet" Lily said

"We're talking is several host nations." Hanna nodded "But Italy is a strong contender."
