Alison had been reaching out to Emily, she had asked Emily to meet her last night and they did, but apparently Spencer had gone as well and Alison had run off, so now Emily was holding a grudge against Spencer for it

And Lily had basically felt like shit ever since Jason had been in her house

And this was made worse by Aria giving her bad news while she was driving to school "Hey what's up" Lily said as she answered the call

"Mona was in my house last night!" She exclaimed

"What?"

"Mike was throwing a party here and apparently he invited her, then this morning he was pissed at me for not liking her," She explained

"Oh my god," Lily whispered, her mind flashing back to when she saw them cozying up together in the school courtyard. Mike was her friend and if he was dating, or getting close to Mona, then his life was in danger "Okay, I can't deal with this today" She hung up the phone and made a u-turn, driving away from Rosewood high and she spotted a lovely café on the side of the road

Lily pulled into the side and got out of her car, she went in to order a coffee and once she had it, she stood on the side of the road and her eyes settled on a book shop next door so she headed over to the shelves outside and began to look through them

Her eyes settled on a murder mystery book 'Body of Evidence' by Patricia Cornwell and she picked it up

"That's a keeper," She jumped when she heard someone's voice and turned around to see Gabriel there "If you like that series, you should really check out some of the Swedish authors. For some reason, they do meatballs and crime novels better than anyone else."

"I hate their meatballs." Lily replied and put it back on the shelf, giving him her full attention "How are you?"

They had been struggling to see each other much longer than a lunch date recently because of how his work was piling up "Stressed," he admitted and she reached over to clasp one of his hands in hers "My job, it isn't easy. But it is especially hard when you realise that you've turned innocent people into collateral damage during an investigation."

"You mean Ashley Marin?" Lily asked and crossed her arms

Holbrook nodded sadly "What I'm trying to say is, I hope that she and her family, and you all are okay."

"I can't speak for the Marins, but we're okay." She replied

"Good." He smiled and stepped closer to her, wrapping his arms around her waist. They rested like that for a moment and his eyes caught on a book on the shelf she had been looking at. So he extended an arm and picked it up, before passing it to her "Here. Get this. You won't regret it."

"Thank you," Lily smiled and pressed a soft kiss to his lips

"Now shouldn't you be in school?" He asked, giving her a teasingly reproachful look

"I don't want to go," she groaned

"I could get you in a lot of trouble for it though," He joked

"Are you going to handcuff me?" She giggled

"I could," He grinned

"Save that for the bedroom," Lily joked and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips

"Okay, well why don't you get to school and I'll meet you afterwards for a coffee," He suggested

Lily reluctantly agreed to finally head into school and when she did, she found Aria standing at her locker

"Hey where were you?" The short girl asked

"Not here," She replied and they walked into the courtyard, but she stopped walking when she saw Mike and Mona talking by one of the pillars. Mona was practically arching her chest at him and his hand held her arm as he walked away "And wishing I was still there,"
