—-Loki—-
Sam leads me back out into the party where I can see some curious glances directed towards us. I guess my over sensitive nature isn't known by everyone on the team and they could be thinking we were up to something far more mischievous in the privacy of the shed. I conjure a coy smile let them think that if they wish it suits me anyway.
While we eat Sam speaks with the others catching up with them they tell her about missions and how Natasha is now second in command after Tony's passing. I listen intently but remain mostly silent. To be completely honest I'm unsure of how to navigate this situation I've never been one for a casual gathering like this royal celebrations and high class gatherings are more my forte.
The casualness is almost intimidating I don't know how to act. Sam must notice my anxiety because she purposefully begins dragging me into the conversation asking me to elaborate on details of stories and asking me for my opinion. Before I know it I'm telling a story about my time in Sakaar before Thor showed up.
Though I was in a bit of a depressed mood during that time because I believed both Asgard and my brother to be lost to me I had tried to make the best of a fresh start and the story is quite funny. All the same it's something I've never felt the need to share before... nobody had ever been interested in hearing what I had to say.
"...then this colossus, this utter oaf, he turns to me as I'm still suspended upside down and the look on his face is one of pure confusion you know what I said to him? ...Come on. What did you expect?"
I'm taken by surprise at just how loud the roar of laughter is from my story. I look around to find I've gained nearly everyone's attention in the midst of my storytelling. I smile slightly in contentment at this. Thor's the loudest of the bunch and doesn't hide his enthusiasm for the story.
"That is great! Why have you never told me this brother?!"
I find myself involuntarily smiling a little wider.
"I didn't think anyone would find it interesting."
I see a look of sadness cross his features for less than a second before his smile returns.
"Well obviously you were wrong. Now I feel if you have any other tales of this sort to tell you shall not keep them from us."
There are nods of agreement. Peter speaks up.
"Yeah Lokes you've been holding out on us!"
I glance over at Sam and find encouragement in her smile. I smile once more and begin another tale.
