No Appointment

—-Thor—-

Though my brother may think me an oaf I'm smart enough to know these people may be waiting for Sam to make a reappearance to retrieve Mjölnir. This means it may be possible to catch them or at the very least identify them. First thing's first though, I need to go to Fury. The future princess of New Asgard was just attacked on U.S. soil.

I need to make sure the United States government knows figuring out how that happened under their watch needs to be their top priority, petty prejudices against mutants be damned. I must be deep in thought with my expression giving more away than I intended because the spiderling interrupts my thought process.

"Thor? Sir? What are you gonna do?"

I stand up with purpose.

"Come my friend you were there I need your help to explain to Fury and whoever else may need convincing the exact gravity of what's happened this day."

He nods and stands up to leave with me I turn to the rest.

"You three are welcome to join as well if you wish."

Logan and Mary stand to join me while Ned looks at me apologetically.

"I'm sorry I gotta be at work in less than an hour I got stuck on the night shift, but let me know what happens."

I nod and the four of us are on our way.

I ignore Fury's glorified receptionists and march into his office. I had tried explaining the urgency of the situation but it fell on deaf ears. I didn't have an appointment, I'm a king and a founding member of the Avengers I don't need an appointment. Especially not for something as pressing as this. He's already talking with someone as I enter the room. He keeps his calm for the moment and smoothly dismisses them.

"Fury. I trust by now you may know what's brought me to your office?"

He nods as Logan, Peter, and Mary make their way into the room behind me. I can tell he's less than pleased with our entrance... I don't much care, I'm in no mood for niceties. I take a seat folding my arms. The others follow my lead either sitting down or leaning against the wall in his office.

"I've been briefed and with who we believe may have done it... we've been chasing these people for decades they're good at covering their tracks, like dust in the wind. They've already cleaned up the mess they made earlier today leaving no trace behind. I'm sorry but I'll never see the funding for an endeavor like this, you know how delicate the situation is with mutants in Washington right now."

I hear Logan growl underneath his breath I glance at him silently telling him not to say anything I'm going to take care of this. If Fury's suggesting it's a lost cause he's got another thing coming. I lean forward.

"Let's get something clear unless you and your government make putting whoever did this away your top priority despite Sam's status as a mutant the United States and New Asgard are going to have... problems."

He raises his eyebrow in disbelief.

"Is that a threat?"

I lean back assuming a more relaxed posture.

"It's a promise. The citizens of New Asgard have taken a liking to Sam and if whoever did this is not swiftly brought to justice... even I may not be able to quell their rage."

He seems to carefully weigh my words before he comes to a decision. He turns to Peter.

"Parker, Tell me exactly what happened."
