I nervously glance again at the find my
phone feature to see that in the span of the last thirty seconds it's gone from offline (often meaning it's in storage via magic) to just across town in Thor's house I immediately text him. -'ready to go home'- I see my message is immediately read and he's typing.

It's not that I haven't enjoyed my time here but I can't relax without Loki with me. I get a response -'coming darling'- I smile at the reply Loki's the kind of person who will never respond back with a 'K' or 'sure' his responses are always well... more him.

Hearing a light tap at the door I immediately know it has to be Loki he's well aware that a full on knock would startle me. I turn to Korg.

"Thank you it's been fun."

"Glad to see you up and around."

I nod and Mary opens the door on the off chance it's not Loki. When I see it is in fact him I don't hesitate to take my place at his side.

"Bye Korg see you!"

"Yup!"

We start walking back home. Loki has his arm around me in a protective way as we walk as if to declare to anyone who's stupid enough to try anything that I'm his and I'm not to be trifled with. I know it's unnecessary here in Tønsberg but I like it, it makes me feel safe. He glances in my direction as we walk I can see slight worry in his gaze.

"Everything went well? You sent a message so soon after I got back."

"Yeah it was fun I was just really ready to get back home with you. My wrists are pretty sore too."

Loki glances at Mary seeking confirmation that I actually did have fun. She nods with a small smile.

"She kicked my ass in Mario Kart."

I giggle at that. He smiles at my laughter.

"We should get home and change those bandages."

I nod and we continue walking. A group of people ahead of us quickly clear a path for us as we walk I smile and give them a slight wave. I've decided my assumption that people are good can remain, at least here in New Asgard. Johann was a great help, he helped me to realize I can trust people. That being scared of them because of everything that's happened doesn't mean I can't trust them it's a natural response and nothing to feel guilty about.

I came to realize despite my fear I do trust them. I know they'd jump to protect me if anything happened I'm just scared and I just need to work on it that's all, just like before. The people smile back realizing I'm not completely uncomfortable with their presence. When we're past them I hear the usual words of approval of us as a couple said in a hushed voice they seem to think keeps us from hearing them.

"He's so gentle with her. I'm so glad we seem to have our prince back thanks to this mortal."

"And to think someone could attack a girl who displays such kindness the poor thing."

"If that happened to my lady I'd never let her leave my side."

"-And that's why you can't find a lover. You become too stifling."

I look up at my fiancé and smile at both the kind words and the banter between the citizens. I know I'm blushing at their kind words. He's smiling too. I wait until we reach home to ask about what he's been up to it's possible he won't tell me but I am curious.

When we arrive home Mary goes to her room sensing our need for privacy. After petting Vili who seems overwhelmed with excitement at our return to the house, I move into the bedroom and sit down on the foot of our bed. Without a word Loki gathers the supplies he needs to change my bandages. He sits down with them and begins removing the bandages from my wrist gently with his skilled hands. I take this opportunity to ask.

"You ready to let me in on what's going on?"

He stops for a second and thinks it over before beginning again and speaking.

"I visited Amora."

I lift my eyebrow, I have a feeling the use of the word 'visited' is a bit of a stretch. He momentarily glances up at my expression and sees this.

"Well actually I broke in, I needed answers, it was easy no one knows it was me and no one was hurt... other than Amora that is."

I should be upset with him for terrorizing someone for information but Amora made those bracers. She had been the reason they were able to take me not to mention everything else she's done. I find myself not really all that concerned for her well being. He goes on sounding apologetic.

"I know you don't like violence..."

"You did what was necessary."

He nods slightly. Whether whatever he did to Amora was purely to extract information or exact some sort of vengeance I know he wouldn't have done it if he didn't believe it was necessary or warranted. He's cruel and violent sometimes in his rage though that's never really been directed at me. I don't know why but it's almost as if when he met me before we were ever even close, he subconsciously decided that that kind of interaction with me was off limits.

He's never become violent with me outside of the context of his ptsd when he wakes up and forgets where he is and that he's safe. I don't think the thought of becoming physical with me during our few arguments has ever crossed his mind. He's always careful and aware of his strength even when he's angry, at least with me he is. With anyone else that pisses him off he's not quite so accommodating.

He gets into trouble for going overboard on missions. Although since I've expressed my distaste for excessive violence to him I can tell he has tried to keep it to a minimum. Now other than the occasional random dagger between Thor's ribs he almost always has a good reason for violence, at least in his own mind. When he finishes up my right wrist I put my hand on his cheek.

"Thank you."

I know he understands by my tone I'm not just thanking him for changing my bandages or dealing with Amora but for those things and everything else, everything since we met. He leans into my touch smiling a little as he gets back to work on my left wrist.

"I love you."

I plant a kiss on his head as he's looking down at my wrist.

"I love you too trouble."
