—-Sam—-

Thor and I both wake up to find Loki still completely passed out. Thor moves Loki over to the bed and we both stretch, sore from sleeping in an odd position on the floor. I look over Loki and admire the beautiful markings running across his blue skin before I cover him with a blanket. I sigh sadly knowing full well how what I see as beautiful seems to cause my husband nothing but pain and grief.

"He's not going to take things well when he wakes up. This is pretty much worst case scenario for him when it comes to this part of him."

Thor nods.

"I know... hopefully people are kind. I'm also hopeful this doesn't go public before Strange can help Loki fix Odin's spell. It wouldn't bother me if people knew the extent of his adoption but I know it'd bother him."

I nod.

"I'm sure the team will be kind it's the rest of the world I'm worried about... I know how some Midgardians treat those that are different. It's very ugly... I don't want that for him, especially not now when he's finally making some progress with them."

Thor puts a hand on my shoulder.

"He's come this far, I don't want to see it happen either but if it does just know if he gets pushed back down by this he'll get back up, he always does. He never gives up, It's one of his defining and sometimes irritating traits."

I nod again it's so true he's possibly the most determined and stubborn person I've met and that's saying something, my surrogate father is Logan. Loki only ever really gives up on something if it benefits the people he loves, other than that he's nearly unshakable in his resolve to do whatever it is he's set his heart on.

Well that is unless I bat my eyelashes at him over something small in that case he's shown time and again he knows how to compromise but just doesn't with most people. I look his face over once again and notice the blue color is darker than yesterday that probably equates to him looking less pale and healthier.

I smile slightly, happy to see he's already doing a little better. I decide now's a good time to try my abilities again now that I'm not so anxious and shaken up like I was yesterday. I was going to wait for him to wake up then take it and possibly all the other effects of his dehydration but he's been through enough so I'll just take that ankle before he has to feel it again.

I brush some hair out of his face lightly grazing my fingers across his skin and brace myself for the pain lifting my leg up off the floor so when it's wounded I at least won't be putting weight on it. I wince at the pain but keep my cool so Thor doesn't freak out on me for taking it.

I can patch myself up in a minute he doesn't need to know or worry about it at least not right this second. I quickly realize I probably won't be able to convincingly walk around like nothings wrong with this wound and I sit down on the bed trying to act casual.

"Sam?"

Thor's voice is somewhat scolding in a lighthearted sort of way. He's really a lot sharper than I gave him credit for when I first met him. He may give off himbo energy but when it counts there's a brain behind all that muscle too. I just shake my head dismissively.

"Don't worry about it."

"You shouldn't've-"

He stops at my glare and sighs knowing that anything he says will have no impact on how necessary I deemed taking this from my husband. He comes at the situation from another angle grabbing a first aid kit from the wall.

"Let me see it."

I nod and smile slightly then limp off the bed into a chair so my movement doesn't interrupt Loki's sleep. My ankle hurts like Hel and I should probably be screaming right now but I instead just grit my teeth. Thor immediately comes over to assist me kneeling down to get a close look at the wound, after looking it over he glances to my face again.
