—-Loki—-

We approach a structure Sam's told me is a Dharma Station. The cages we had been inspecting earlier are not at all far from the structure but the jungle has overgrown the surrounding area enough that the building was not easily noticeable. The station ironically enough shares a name with a group whose members are often on the receiving end of the Avengers' wrath. The Hydra.

I break down the door so we can enter when we discover it's locked from the inside. Surprisingly we've faced no resistance yet. The station has been left unguarded from the outside. Sam starts muttering sounding a bit anxious about what's to come.

"They probably already know we're here if they're in here, there's a room filled with TVs that display security camera footage."

"So they just let us take the hostages earlier?"

She answers sounding more and more frustrated and anxious as she goes on.

"I don't know, they might be trying to make us think they've moved on which I really hope they haven't actually. Because that would most likely mean they went back to the barracks and if they did that, that would mean we need to go back to the other island and then we'd have to figure out what to do with Tom and Amy and I don't want to leave them by themselves on that island because of the monster, at the same time I don't want to go back and forth between the islands so many times... I'm so sick of this shit."

I can only conclude she's worn out from running around in the jungle and battling her emotions. I can't really blame her as I am becoming just as frustrated with the mission at hand I simply don't have a cocktail of chemicals heightening my emotions as she does, I'm sure I'd be right there with her if I did.

I try my best to ease her mind about our current situation though I agree with what she's saying. We both will have earned a well deserved day lounging around the house after this mission's completed.

"Easy darling, don't overwhelm yourself by fretting over things before their time, we will figure this out as it comes."

She frowns looking like she wants to argue with me I know she doesn't really. She's kind and sweet at her core but I have noticed she gets a bit short tempered at least once a month. For what it's worth she also feels guilty when she is in such a mood. Often once everything has passed she will apologize to anyone she feels she has slighted though most forget about it by the time she does.

Its really quite adorable. I put my hand at her neck giving her a light smile and her frown disappears. It's slowly replaced with a small smile. She giggles slightly at my smile which I've shifted to a smile that according to Sam is one of my most attractive.

"Alright Prince Charming."

I chuckle at how easily flustered she is and at the nickname. We make our way down a corridor at the end of it is a watertight door like one you would find in a submarine. Before we get any further doors burst open and we find ourselves surrounded by several dozen people all pointing guns at us. I roll my eyes putting up a shield for Sam and myself just before the first shot is fired. I see the dismayed look on the face of the man who fired the shot and establish eye contact.

"Seriously?"

A few others try shooting of course to no effect. Sam speaks then.

"Just give us David and Shawn and nobody has to get hurt."

One of them fires yet again in defiance of this suggestion. He then breaks character looking nervous about doing so the entire time.

"You know we can't do that, he'd have our heads."

I sigh. It's unclear if they are working with Mojo because they were forced to or because they chose to but I lack the patience to find out. Sam and I need this mission to be over and if they need our help they should indicate such before the fighting begins else I'll assume the latter.

"If we can't come to an arrangement then you leave us no choice."

My statement is met with no indication of surrender so Sam and I make quick work of taking them out. When the last one lies unconscious Sam opens a door and steps inside. I follow knowing she probably has some idea of the layout of the station. The room we step into is divided in half by a glass wall. I quickly spot a figure in the corner of the room on the same side of the glass as us. In the blink of an eye Sam is at their side looking over them in concern.

"Hey, David it's okay we're here to get you out of here, are you hurt?"

He looks up from the floor at her. His expression is relieved realizing she's not a threat.

"N-no, ...Are the others...? Did- did you find them?"

He's clearly a bit traumatized yet he still thinks first of his fellow cast members. Sam nods trying to reassure him.

"We've found everyone but Shawn."

Mazouz furrows his eyebrows seeming to have just registered Sam's use of the word 'we'.

"We...?"

He looks up and spots me, I see fear cross his features but he's quick to cover it up. He actually smiles a little in relief with his next statement.

"You're the Avengers."

"Yup though I know we're not exactly the 'World's Finest' but we're here to help."

He smiles at what I recognize from Sam's affinity for comic books as a reference to a particular series, this is relevant only because he was the star of a show featuring a character that made up half of the duo the 'World's Finest' comic book series followed. The show is one of Sam's favorites. He stands and walks with Sam to where I stand in the doorway.

"I could do worse. Could've gotten Hawkeye."

This earns a chuckle from both Sam and myself. After checking him over and having a brief conversation in which Mazouz tells us everything he's aware of as to Shawn's whereabouts (which was next to nothing) we walk out of the room into the hall where Sam makes a B line for a particular room. I peer in to see it's the room full of televisions Sam told me about earlier. She glances over each screen eventually her eyes land on one.

"Of course, he's in room 23! I should have known! We should hurry."

With this information we proceed to drop Mazouz off with Hiddleston and Amy (who's still unconscious) then retrieve Shawn with as little trouble we retrieved Mazouz. The man is shaken as it seems they were using some form of brainwashing or torture on him via subliminal messages being on a giant screen in front of him he was forced to watch. He's in no condition to walk so I carry him through the jungle.

I would ask Sam a multitude of questions about the state we found him in but decided against it due to the fact that her responses seem to always be something to the effect of 'its complicated'. I'll just have to watch for myself. All of these bits and pieces of information like this make me exceptionally curious about the show this is all based off of. With Shawn in tow we make our way back to regroup with the now safe hostages.
