—-Loki—-

We're in a literal hell dimension fighting a being Strange calls Mephisto. The climate is very much like Muspelheim. I chuckle to myself slightly as I take down one of Mephisto's demons. Sam would not be happy with Strange if she knew he'd brought me to a world made up of fire. He told me he needs my help though because this being's ambitions may result in the destruction of our reality or something like that.

I'll admit I wasn't really all that interested in the reasoning, I just want to go in take him out and get back to my wedding planning. I turn to fight another oncoming horde of Mephisto's demons when I'm abruptly interrupted. I have the wherewithal to put up a protective shield before my vision's taken over.

I see Heimdall standing before me his usual stoic demeanor is cracked showing a glimmer of worry. I look to him questioningly 'what's gone wrong?'

"It's Lady Samantha she needs you. Something's happened she's injured. She was attacked and nearly abducted though I cannot see her I can see her friend who's with her. I was informed by Thor that she's with Peter in his home."

When the vision fades away I let off a burst of magical energy channeling my anger and anxiety over whatever Sam's been subjected to in my absence effectively laying waste to the demons attacking both Strange and myself. Then I use even more energy to attack Mephisto. He lies unconscious and I cast a spell on him that should bind him to this dimension for a while.

My energy reserves for magic are now nearly depleted and it will take days to build them back up to a level fit for battle. I wouldn't have ever done this sort of thing under normal circumstances as it is dangerous to channel and release so much magic at once but I don't have time to be safe because my better half isn't.

Strange looks at me a little stunned at my display of power not knowing that my abilities were that well developed and also understanding that what I just did was a huge risk to my own well-being.

"Strange you need to bring me to Peter's apartment right now!"

"Why?"

"It's Sam, she's been attacked, she's hurt. I need to go."

He looks bewildered about how I know this and I can sense he's about to waste my time asking for an explanation. I speak and my voice comes out with a snarl.

"NOW STRANGE!!"

He lifts his eyebrow at me and I realize he holds all the power in getting me there and I am at his mercy. I try to get rid of my anger though my words still come out sounding demanding.

"Please. I need to go now! I need to make sure she's safe."

He seems to realize I'm not actually angry with him but with whoever dared touch Sam and his usual demeanor towards me falters a little. His expression softens slightly and he nods opening up a portal.

"I can take a look over her if you'd like I used to be a neurosurgeon but of course I had to study the entirety of human physiology before I was able to practice."

I nod as we step through the portal.

"Please."

I step into the apartment seeing that Thor, Mary, Logan, Peter, and Ned are all standing in the living room with Sam nowhere to be seen. I can't help but be angry at this fact.

"Where is she? Why isn't anyone with her?!"

Peter is the first to speak.

"She's really scared we didn't want to scare her more so we're in here. We've been checking on her but we don't want her to panic any more than she already is. She doesn't recognize us we think it's her ptsd. We were waiting for you because in all honesty you probably know what to do better than anyone."

I nod but remain quiet giving him a look urging him to continue explaining. Peter catches on to it and explains everything that happened to Strange and I, making my blood boil. I glare around the room.

"Both the collar and the bracers are still on?"

Thor explains putting his hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down.

"We couldn't figure out how to remove the bracers and touching them in any way seemed to hurt her more. Ned can get the collar off but we didn't know if that was a good idea if she got away from us she could be taken again or hurt herself more."

I nod but continue to frown just because he's right doesn't mean I have to like it. He steps away and Peter brings up a point I hadn't thought about before.

"So how did you guys get here? Doctor Strange told us he couldn't go anywhere he isn't familiar with unless someone he trusts is familiar wi-"

Strange interrupts him loudly looking like he's been caught in a lie.

"Ahem, well, Loki I think you should check on Sam."

My worry over Sam is enough for me to shelve this discussion for a later date but not enough to distract me from the implications of what was just said. Because of the nature of how sling-rings work it is an undeniable fact that in some way shape or form Stephen Strange trusts me. I give him a look making it clear that he's not going to avoid this discussion forever before dropping the subject.

"Has Logan tried seeing her yet?"

The man himself responds.

"Yeah. It's not a question of not remembering anything since her rescue, it's a question of not really recognizing anyone past the fact that they're a man and men hurt her. Mary could probably help but I didn't want her to risk going in alone."

I nod at his explanation. This is even worse than I thought.

"Mary you should come with me then when we're done you should be in there to help Doctor Strange look her over to make sure she doesn't have any severe injuries."

Strange counters.

"I could just astral project so I don't scare her with my presence."

That's probably for the best so I agree wondering why I hadn't suggested it myself.

"Alright."

Mary and I slowly open the door to the room Sam has made herself a small figure in the corner. As we step into the room Sam hears our entrance and she curls herself up further her fearful response reminds me of the first time I saw her. I hate seeing her scared under normal circumstances but the effect is ten times worse now seeing she's afraid of me. I hope I can pull her out of this soon.
