We're on the last bit of Frozen when Anna is "dead" when we get a very urgent sounding knock on our door. I immediately pause the movie then glance over at Loki to see he's crying. My heart swells, the fearsome god of Mischief crying at a Disney film yet again how adorable! He's so incredibly emotionally involved whenever we watch movies.
As long as the story's well told it doesn't matter if it's rated R or G he'll get emotional if a character he's attached to is hurt. It's equally true for the books he reads, no wonder some Nordic peoples dubbed him the god of Stories I have no doubt he must've always had his nose in a book and made his thoughts about the stories he was reading well known the few times he visited Earth when he was a child. I smile at him in adoration and peck him on the cheek.
"She'll be alright Lo' it's a Disney movie she's fine."
He frowns at me both in slight embarrassment and in annoyance.
"Spoilers! Besides, I knew that!"
I giggle at him before standing up to answer the door Loki follows closely behind quickly drying his eyes. I'm more than a little surprised when I find Steve Rodgers accompanying Thor and Jane on our front doorstep especially at this time in the evening.
"Steve?"
Steve replies seeming uncharacteristically anxious.
"Hey Sam, Lo', I came here as soon as I got the call and Thor thought you two along with some others should also hear it straight from me."
Loki and I study their faces for a moment both wear a grim expression, this isn't good. Loki questions Steve with worry ever so slightly evident in his voice.
"...What's this about?"

We make several more stops and by the time we've all gathered in Tønsburg's town hall building our group consists of some of the most heavy hitters in New Asgard. Sif, Valkyrie, Heimdall, and even Korg along with many Einherjar are among those Thor thinks need to hear whatever it is Steve has to say.
This absolutely can't be anything good, if my intuition's right Steve's caught wind that something terrible is happening. Steve begins explaining.
"I've got some concerning news, the Guardians of the Galaxy contacted us in order to warn us about what's coming."
Steve pulls a device from his pocket and shows it to the group.
"Quill gave me this device during Vormir, he said it runs on the principle of quantum entanglement or something like that."
In order to distract myself from my anxiety over whatever it is that's coming I find myself resorting to a nervous habit I had that predates my kidnapping, becoming overly talkative when anxious. It's not that I never do this anymore it's just that I don't usually resort to that tactic in such a large group.
I guess it's been long enough since my rescue now and that I feel so comfortable with everyone here that I don't feel any subconscious need to resort to the habit of silence I'd replaced my nervous talking with out of necessity for survival. At least not right now in this moment I don't.
I feel a strange sense of happiness at this as I question the technology in order to fill the air with questions rather than focus on the worst case scenarios flooding my mind. 'Does this somewhat dormant habit coming back in a situation like this mean I'm getting a little better?'
I fill the silence with words and questions bombarding poor Steve with my babbling. I do genuinely find the technology fascinating but I'm more just anxious than actually curious.
"...so like spooky action at a distance? Like because nothing, baring the exceptions we've witnessed, can travel faster than light, nothing besides random information being passed between particles that have been entangled with each other on a quantum level I mean... so out in the Andromeda Galaxy they figured out how to control what information each particle would spit out in a way that wasn't quite as random and they use that to communicate with people lightyears apart?"
Steve looks taken aback at my long winded dialogue. I smile sheepishly feeling bad for rambling and putting him on the spot but at the same time glad I subconsciously trust everyone in the room enough to run a motormouth. Usually Loki's the only one that hears that much out of me at once.
"Umm... I don't really know much about quantum physics or mechanics that'd be a question for Scott or Hope or better yet Hank Pym or Janet Van Dyne but from what the raccoon explained to me when Quill gave me the communicator I think that's about the gist of it."
Loki nods smiling a bit realizing how not quiet I'm being. He gives his own irrelevant and long winded response.
"Asgard developed a similar technology in order to communicate between the realms though our technical terms were quite different from Midgard's. In Asgard the concept is explained to children with the metaphor of Ratatosk a squirrel that runs around Yggdrasil's branches delivering messages between the realms. Ratatosk in this scenario is the information itself running between entangled particles."
Steve nods though he looks like he's got no idea what Loki's talking about and like he's too worried about the situation at hand to ask for clarification. He goes on awkwardly as I exchange a knowing smile with Loki.
"Anyway... The Guardians started getting distress call after distress call about a god butcher. When they finally caught up with him he held his own against them conceringly well almost killing Quill and Mantis in the process and finishing his slaughter of Falligar, the apparent god of the Falligarians. As he left he mentioned to them that Asgard was next."
Sif seems shocked by the idea.
"A god butcher?! Why would-?"
Steve answers before she can finish.
"They didn't know all they could tell me about him is that he uses a powerful sword and calls himself Gorr."
