—-Loki—-

I walk up to Thor's house now prepared with a believable cover story. He greets me at the door.

"Brother? You're not with Sam?"

I smile.

"She's at Korg's with Mary."

"So she's no longer scared?"

"Not as much so, though she is in possession of both Mjölnir and a firearm."

He nods still looking worried.

"Why are you here?"

"I need to go to New York to speak with Peter about what happened. Now that it's been a bit he may remember some details he was too flustered to relay before."

He takes a pause and looks me up and down then sighs.

"What are you actually going to New York for?"

'Oh shit.' Maybe I can still convince him.

"I just told you."

He looks slightly angry and a bit hurt though he remains calm as if he'd expected this from me.

"Loki you don't need to lie to me. I want to find these people as much as you do."

I drop my charade seeing he won't be convinced I'm not lying now. Does he mean that though that I don't need to lie? I don't think he would say that if he knew what I was up to.

"On the contrary I think it's necessary we both know my tactics aren't exactly bound by mortal laws."

He looks me in the eye then, seeming to search them for the answers he wants and reaches a decision on how to proceed. He puts his hand on my neck affectionately

"Brother I'm not going to stop you from doing what you think you need to do. I wish you trusted me enough to know that."

I'm suddenly hit with guilt. 'Is that what Thor thought when I lied to him?' Though he's an idiot I trust him with my life.

"I do... I trust you... I just thought it'd be easier this way... if I just kept it to myself."

Now he looks guilty.

"You don't have to... I'm sorry you had to in the past, that you didn't feel you could rely on me or on anyone besides mother... all because of my obliviousness... my arrogance."

I'm taken by surprise at him pouring his soul to me in this way.

"Thor I... that's all forgiven you... you've known that... right?"

We'd never had a formal conversation about it but I'd just assumed he knew because of our demeanor towards each other. He takes his hand away and steps back.

"I... I've never been certain... you can be quite cold."

He's right some days over the past five years I'd been warm to him but others I could be downright mean. It all depended on how much I was struggling with everything else because I'd made Thor my punching bag.

"Brother I'm sorry... I should have made that clear to you. I have been cold and distant at times... I haven't been fair to you and now... I'm trying to fix that."

"I know I've noticed..."

He still seems upset but luckily for my heart that's seemed to grow three sizes since I've met Sam I know how I can fix this.

"I love you brother, let's sit down. I'll explain what I'm doing."

He looks genuinely surprised and nods. I'm happy to see a smile form on his lips as he responds.

"Alright then."

We then make our way into his house and we sit down at his dining room table where I begin explaining my plan.
