The next day
—-Sam—-
We're on about the 50th dress and I can tell my company is starting to get restless particularly Sif and Laura. I feel bad for taking so long but none of these feel right. I've tried to stay away from backless dresses for obvious reasons but I just don't like anything the salesperson has recommended so far. All of the dresses I like the look of have no back...
"Alright guys I'ma try something."
I turn around and go back to the fitting room and address the salesperson.
"Let's try some of those backless dresses you were so adamant about before."
"Are you sure Miss Howlett?"
I had informed the flamboyant salesperson about my reasoning for not wanting to show my back and he'd been very accommodating after hearing my explanation I really appreciate it. Of course he did know who I am and told me he was jealous of me snatching Loki up as my fiancé. I can't blame him for his attraction Loki's fucking gorgeous. I giggled when he told me how much he loves seeing Loki's latest getups, I will admit fully that my man's got style.
"Yes, I mean... my veil or a cape will be covering it anyway right?"
He smiles excitedly.
"Oh yes, we can make sure of it darling! Oh! I have just the perfect dress in mind!"
I smile at his enthusiasm as he all but runs to the dress rack to retrieve it. I giggle slightly to myself, I'm mildly disappointed he didn't scold me for asking about a cape as he somehow reminds me of Edna Mode. He brings me a dress that's white with gold lace designs in it. I nod in approval as I look it over. It looks promising.
"Let's see how this looks."
I step into the dressing room and slip it on its surprisingly easy to get into unlike some of the other dresses I've tried on today. The fabric doesn't irritate my skin either. I catch a glance at myself in the mirror and something just seems to click. I think this is it. I come back out and the salesperson gasps.
"Girl! We have got to show you off to your friends!"
I nod slightly still smiling at my revelation. I step out and am met with similar gasps from my bridesmaids and my sister. The room seems to erupt with complements nobody has anything bad to say about my dress as I turn around showing the whole thing.
"Oh sugah!"
"Absolutely stunning!"
"Like... wow!"
"Gorgeous!"
"....Like an Ljósálfar..."
"You're so beautiful!!"
"... not bad... not bad at all."
I blush.
"I... I think this ones it guys."
They all adamantly agree. With my dress now chosen it doesn't take long to find the other accessories I need. Before I know it I've checked out and I'm informed on the date to come by and pick it up on once all the alterations are done so it fits perfectly. I feel as if I'm walking on air as I part with my bridesmaids and head to meet Peter outside the shop. I check my phone one more time before I leave hearing it buzz. I'm stunned by the gif he sends me. With the caption 'me when a supervillain attacks me with a small knife'
I quickly formulate my response.
I giggle as I walk out of the store and across the street to him watching him check his phone. I'd been texting him pictures the whole time probably annoying him but as his friend that's kind of my job. In return he's been sending memes from 2022 I'm almost caught up.
I told him I was almost done a few minutes ago and to meet me here. He greets me excitedly and we start walking in the direction of his apartment planing on stopping at Delmar's Deli to grab an early supper with Ned on the way. I'm happy to be catching up with my friend life's been so crazy lately.
