As the days go by Sam becomes more and more brave. Despite the nightmares that cause her fear she hasn't let them stop her from venturing out of the house with me. I'm happy to say her experience didn't set us back at all as far as intimacy goes in fact she's just seemed to become more comfortable with it since everything.

I'm inspired by her strength throughout all of this, she seems determined to get back to some semblance of 'normal' if that's what you could call our life. If she can bounce back from this then certainly I am capable of allowing myself to drop my illusion of indifference, at least around some people to start, I can be more open if I try.

Sam overcoming her anxieties after everything she's been through has to be proof that it's also possible for me to allow those I trust to see my true emotions instead of hiding behind my illusory malice and sarcastic comments. I'm already doing better with Thor and Peter than I do with most people I can let them see more, I could let others in too. I just need some time to work up to it.

Perhaps I'll start with Sif since were getting on a lot better now. Since her visit with me back at the hospital we've been a step above civil, you could even call us friendly towards each other. Though I didn't exactly break my habit of holding people at arm's length, I have already started to open up a little around her so it wouldn't be too big of a leap for me to let her in more.

Her and Sam have grown closer so I've been seeing her more often anyway it just seems like a naturally good place to start. I'll start there and see how it goes.

The next two weeks fly by fast. Sam is doing a whole lot better her wrists are almost completely healed. I've just finished the last of everything for the wedding planning. After a chaotic rehearsal and rehearsal dinner with the wedding party. I come to realize that tomorrow is the day.

Sam will be taking off early tomorrow morning with her bridesmaids to get ready. Everything to do with Sam's preparations is a mystery to me other than the fact I clued her in on the tradition that most Asgardian brides wear their hair down for the event and that her bouquet will be overflowing with flowers I haven't a clue what to expect.

Upon waking seeing Sam's already gone with her bridesmaids I'm surprised to find myself more excited than nervous for the day. I'm barely out of bed when I hear the front door burst open. I panic slightly but quickly recognize the booming footsteps as belonging to Thor and not a mad Titan.

I'm somewhat worried that something is wrong to cause him to enter my home with such urgency. My bedroom door is also all but ripped from its hinges as the oaf enters my room. I quickly realize he's been overcome by apparent excitement. Despite my genuine annoyance at his invasion of my privacy I find the corner of my lips lifting into a smile.

His expression reminds me of his excitement when we were children. He'd come barreling into my room in this same manner whenever the day we were to leave for mother's cottage in Vanaheim for a months retreat came around bicentennialy (twice every hundred years).

The expression on his face now... it's not the arrogant high and mighty favorite son I grew to resent over the years, no, that's the Thor I remember the Thor from before all that, my best friend, my brother. I can't help but chuckle slightly as I shake my head at Thor's childish behavior in coming here.

"What are you doing here you oaf?"

"Well... Sam is getting help getting ready so I just thought you might want some."

I laugh as he of all people should know I don't need any help getting ready least of all from him as his fashion sense is... well, none existent. The only reason he's ever looked well put together is because he got help from me or someone else. Honestly he dresses like a homeless person half the time. No the real reason he's here is simply because he's excited for me which makes me feel both like stabbing him and like hugging him perhaps I can do both...

"You're an idiot Thor."

"I'm aware."

I shake my head and chuckle again before I begin to get ready.
