Chapter Twenty Five

The warmth of sun on her face, Nicole opens her eyes to see the London eye below them.

Lifting her head, she takes in the beautiful view. Never had she seen anything except for the streets of, L.A., and Mexico for a brief period of time.

Now, she was minutes away from stepping off the plane into a new country. To a new life.
Nothing but feelings of doubt battling inside.

The jacket rested over her, slips down into her lap. A quick furrow of her brows, she steals her gaze back out the window.

"Wow," She breathes low.

"First time seeing London?" Owen asks.

Nicole eyes narrow to see him leaned on the empty seat next to her. His own gaze taken out the small window to the view.

"Wouldn't you know if it is my first time here?" Nicole rolls her eyes. "You know everything else."

Owen drops his head with a chuckles. "I don't know that much about you, Nicole." He sits across from her, taking out his phone. "The bags under your eyes are disappearing."

"Thanks." Nicole lazily replies.

"You slept soundly, not even the turbulence woke you up."

"I was tired," Nicole finally relieves her gaze from the window, and picks up the jacket. "Did you put this on me?"

Owen simply nods, typing away on his phone. "I would put it on, it's cold out there this morning."

Nicole didn't question him for his suggestion. Pushing her arms through the sleeves, she adjusts her her hair to fall over a shoulder.

"Thank you."

Hearing those words, his eyes flickered up with a smirk. "Learning manners now, Nicole?"

"Not like I have a choice." Nicole says low, she took that still planted smirk on his face as him still hearing her. "Were not going to get shot once we step off this plane are we?"

Owen laughs, and her brow raises high.

It wasn't a joke, it was an honest question.

"No, Nicole." Owen laughter begins to die, but he still couldn't help but be amused. "No one knows where I am, unless I want them to." Normally, Nicole, would say that was big guy talk but the more she started to learn Shaw, he was far from talk. "I told you, Nicole, you're very safe with me and my company."

"Until you send me out to do your jobs that could possibly get me killed?"

"Pretty much, yes." Owen smirks.

"At least your honest." Nicole rolls her eyes. "I'll admit that."

Owen leans up, chuckling under his breath. "Always know one thing about me, I mean everything I say."

Nicole eyes him, she took that as a warning to her but also a hint for the future when talking to him. If she had any chance of surviving then she had to not only learn, Owen Shaw, but find a way to trust him. Nobody else could teach her what she needed to know but the man in front of her.

This was not a game she wanted to learn but she had to play it, to get out. So she would. Even if it killed her.

Landing in a private area from most planes, they had finally made it.

Nicole's feet hit the solid ground, cold air hitting her face like needles. Owen didn't lie about it being a cold morning, his jacket becoming great use to her.
