Chapter Nine- Saying Goodbye and Returning Home

Six months later.....

It had already been six months since the call from Ernest and it was already the beginning of a new year. During their little Christmas dinner at the house, Ernest gave her the rest of the information on where Dom was now staying for a while but she still had to wait for them to come back to the hideout which was really soon. It was going to work out fine, Letty and Nicole were going back home to, L.A, and once she got Nicole settled in for a couple of months, then she would leave to find him.

"Nicole!" Letty calls out, walking back into the house. "Where did you put the other boxes from my room!" She picks up a box by the door. "I know you hear me kid!"

They decided not to tell Mia, Letty instead wanted it to be a surprise for her as she knew how much Mia missed them and the feeling was a hundred percent mutual. The house went from a full family inside to just Mia herself, and she couldn't imagine how lonely that must have felt. At least her and Nicole still had each other, Mia just had herself, but that was going to change now. Nicole didn't want to go to the Dominican Republic with her, and Mia was the only safe place to go. Letty knew Mia needed somebody else in that house with her and that she would look after Nicole like she use to.

Rique walks into the house. "This box to Letty?"

After what happened at his shop, Ernest made him apologize to Letty and after that she had to admit that he wasn't that bad once they got to know him. Letty had to rough him up on the regular, but Rique was still a good guy at heart, and was like another good guy figure for Nicole to be around as he was the reason her daughter was now a video game freak.

"Yeah, that one too." Letty gives him the one she had in her arms. "Did you see Nicole out there?"

"Uh, last time I seen, badness." Rique ponders, Letty gives him a him a look for what he called Nicole, he catches this and raises a brow. "Oh, like you don't think the things I say." Letty rolls her eyes. "Anyway, she was headed out back the last time I saw her."

"Alright," Ernest and his wife walks inside. "Letty your car is all packed."

"After I put these last ones in." Rique takes them out.

"Thanks guys, let me find Nicky." Letty walks towards the kitchen. "First she didn't want to get up this morning and now I can't find her." She throws her hands up.

It was funny how many years they spent there, as it was just like their first home, they came in as a family and only two of them were now leaving. Letty hated to admit it but she was going to miss this house, it was a nice home and they made it into one, but it wasn't their home that they knew and loved.

Letty walks out back and sees Nicole out on the beach looking out at the view, she takes a walk on the sand and makes her way over to her.

Her hair was out but she had her shades pushing it back, she wore a pair of jeans, with sandals and a black tank top.

Nicole grew a bit taller in the past months but nothing really too noticeable. The only thing that really changed and was clear as day to see, was her age and attitude. Her skin complexion now favored her mothers and so did her hair, the only thing different was Nicole's hair was lighter like Mia's, and Nicole didn't wear it in her natural style anymore, she wore it straightened out in messy curls now and always parted to the side.

Years had flown since they first came there, and now in a couple of months, Nicole would be twelve years old. Time wasn't waiting for anyone, and it was why Letty wanted to help make things right and put her family back together.
