Chapter Forty-Eight

Fixing her hair up in a pony tail. Nicole was moving boxes around the shop.

Hearing a car pull up, she was thrown off to see Xander step out of it.

"Hey, Mr. Toretto! I got the boxes you told me to pick up."

"Xander?" Nicole meets up with him.

A teasing smile on his lips. "Heyy, good looking."

Dom stops behind Nicole, raising his brow.

Xander double takes, averting his wide eyes—he clears his throat.

"Good looking, respectable young lady, is what I was finishing to say,"

"That's what I thought you said." Dom nods, walking around her.

Nicole smirks and shakes her head.

"It was!" Xander releases his breath. "Okay, your dad can be really intimidating sometimes. Which says a lot because I have been in the room with straight up murderers."

"Good lord. What are you even doing here?"

In one ear and out the other as he asks. "Aren't you supposed to be in school?"

"Never mind that, you-being, here," Nicole motions around.

"Oh! Your dad offered me a job," Xander shrugs.

Nicole looks at her father when he strolls back in. "Seriously?"

"Yeah," Xander sighs. "Hobbs said I needed to stay out of trouble and make myself a, 'Person of society', whatever the heck that means." He rolls his eyes. "So, your dad offered me a job here. Made me promise not to tell you about it since this was your surprise."

"S-So wait..." Nicole snorts but holds back. "You really have an actual job? Like your going to be really dealing with customers."

"Yeah,"

"Another helping hand and he can take on the guys for motorcycles, bring in some extra money." Dom says.

"That's great and all, but you?" Nicole laughs. "You, you, as an employee-" she cracks up.

"Okay, it's not that funny."

"No, no, really think about it!" Nicole holds her stomach. "You working a 9-5,"

Xander breaks. "Okay it is kind of funny." He laughs at himself. "Can you picture me really being that?"
