Chapter Thirty Three
Looking out at view, Nicole watched from the sunset rooftop.
The others would be leaving for Russia and she was going back to London to tie up loose ends like Owen wanted before he returns. It seemed for the past days that Hobbs was chasing them even more now. Country to country, with goals to take them down. Owen had a good feeling that Hobbs wasn't tracking Nicole anymore, but himself. Which meant he put some things together, and Nicole knew their job in Berlin did it.
Normally their jobs were quiet but it seemed Owen had been making a lot of noise for this one in particular. Why he needed to build this device for this person she had no clue. What was he getting out of this?
A gray and knitted, long sleeve, sweater; hung a little on her and off her shoulder. Laying underneath it—a black spaghetti strap shirt. The sleeves almost covering her small hands that were now healing better. Wearing a pair of fitted black skinny jeans, she wore a pair of low heeled boots.
For the first time she had her hair back in it's curly natural state since dyeing it deep burgundy. Ditching the contacts a few weeks ago seemed like the best call after a while. She told Owen that she would agree to be called by the name 'Hailey', but she would no longer keep the fake eye color.
The hair she was willing to make a deal, but she missed her real eyes, the color of them that she had been born with. She missed them...
Playing with a poodle curl she smiles at her hair being back in it's original state.
Ever since Letty had talked to her about leaving, Nicole had been feeling better when it came to being with Shaw. Now it wouldn't be long before they both could go back home. All she had to do before they leave is tell her mother the truth about why she was really here.
No more being afraid of the consequences, or of Owen. If Letty was prepared to leave then so is she. Two years of this hell....she had enough of it, and wanted to go back home. Wherever that may be now...
The breathtaking view of the beach called out in the distance. Far it was but it had been enough for her to see. The last time she had been to a beach, it was the last best memory with her father before he left them.
Nicole's eyes fall to the railing.
Those good memories with her father when she was little, they kept her moving...
All she wondered is if he gave up on ever finding her....if he grieved for her death, and if he was around people that wouldn't let him fall to that grief. The worry in her heart she had for her father never left her for a second.
Nicole smile trembles, just to hear her father scold her again would be music to her ears. It would let her know that her life was really back to normal and that she was safe again.
The place she felt the safest even when he wasn't there, it had always been with her parents and with most of all, her dad...
Flashback...
Dom sat outside at the table in the backyard reading over papers for the shop. Everyone had went to bed but he decided to take some quiet time.
The adoring giggling made him look over to see Nicole playing in the yard. Asleep she was supposed to be, and Letty would kill him for throwing off her sleep schedule but he couldn't tell her no when she came downstairs.
Hair in a messy bun and pj's, Nicole played with the ball. She gave it a kick up over the fence, into the neighbors yard.
"Oops!"
