Chapter 135

Nicole walked out the back of the home to see an old familiar face.
Hair out from its rubber bands and a simple white t-shirt.

"Still up stranger?"

Ernest looks over his shoulder. "Back from causing havoc in Mexico already?"

"Yeah and no," Nicole walked out to join him at the two seater table. "I wanted to walk over and say thank you for letting us borrow the house down there. We will be gone in the morning."

"Come on kid, you don't have to thank me for that."

Nicole brow raise. "You realize I'm in my twenties and have a kid of my own?"

"Still little girl Toretto who always threw a good right hook in my eyes."

"You and Dominic Toretto would get a long great." Nicole nods.

Ernest chuckles making her laugh. He reached over and hands her a beer.

"Your mother only drank these, I'm assuming the same works for her daughter."

Nicole picked up the corona as she leaned on the table, looking it over.

"Father would have nothing less."

Ernest smiles, he looked back out at the beach view.

"You got a interesting few days ahead of you."

"Yeah." Nicole nods, looking down. "I can't wait to get home though."

"Home sick?"

"More like child sick." Nicole admits. "I don't like leaving him for this long. I don't ever want him to think we aren't coming back for him."

"They always say the worse part about being a parent is making those tough decisions." Ernest day back. "On if what you do is going to cause more harm then good. And if your child is the one it will effect the most."

"I pray it doesn't." Nicole nods. "But I have to do this, it has to end somewhere. If not, I'll be even more scared that it'll find its way to him." A slight scoff from her at the thought. "I wouldn't want to live if I could never see that little boys face again."

"Spoken like a real mother." Ernest nods getting her attention. "I know this road that you are going down you believe can only end with a bullet."

"I don't see it ending another way, Ernest. I tried the talking method." Nicole eyes go the beach. "It's some people in this world you just can't talk to. Trust me."
