Bonus Chapter
Mike wipes down the bar.
He looks up when he sees that familiar face.
"Look who strolled in, where you been kid?"
"Mike, how old am I?" Tyler brow raised.
"A kid. I don't care how old you get." Mike tells him.
Chuckling, he shakes his head and has a seat.
Same cut as always but his arm filled out more in his v-neck as he had buffed up a bit more. A healthy weight and no longer a tired look in his eyes.
"How have you been?"
"Been good. Just got back yesterday." Tyler puts his leather jacket to the side.
"You staying out of trouble aren't you?" Mike pours him a drink.
Tyler takes it. "As much as I can."
"So, no?"
A roll of his eyes. "Good to see you to."
"Oh!" Mike snaps his fingers. "Before I forget. Nicole left this here for you." He waves the letter. An unreadable look as he stares at the note. "I know you probably don't want it."
"I'll take it."
"Really?"
Tyler holds out his hand for it. "Alright. I'm going to tell her I gave it to you."
"That's fine." Tyler opens it up.
"Okay," Mike went down to the end of the bar when a customer called him. "And pay your damn tab while your here."
"Yes, sir."
Tyler put his glass down as he opens up the letter. The hand writing inside not done by a computer but by hand.
I hope you're okay,
If you're shooting, you better aim right and if you're running, always run back to the safest place.
Tyler smirks but reads on.
We didn't end the best but and I did walk away from you, but I did that for me. I hope one day you will see that and I pray one day you get to meet the girl that made it out. I may have changed how I view things and who I am but I never changed that you were my friend. I never changed that I love you.
Funny part is, I am always going to love you. When I couldn't see my dad through all my pain, it was you, who made me think about it. You reached back your hand for me when I thought I lost everything and I'll never forget you came for me despite everything.
