Chapter Seventy Four

Nicole opens her eyes, feeling the weight under her she only smiles and relaxes her head back down. Fingers playing in her hair, made her breaths grow calm and steady.

It had been a few days since Tyler found her down the D.R. As much as she did love the break and free time to explore, she did miss him and her friends back home. Everyone was moving on and she couldn't be happy to hear it, but Tyler did mention how much her missing presence was noticeable.

And today was the day, that Tyler would be going back.

Would she leave with him?

Nicole still wasn't sure she was ready to go back to everyone yet.

"You finally up?"

"Yeah," Nicole sighs. She lifts her head that laid on his chest and turns to look at Tyler. "Your a good cushion."

"Your head is a little heavy."

"Shut up," Nicole smirks.

Tyler chuckles, he drops his hand. Nicole sits up, stretching her back and arms in the air. She wore a big band T-shirt with curls thrown over her head.

"Don't recall the last I laid down and relaxed all day."

"Feels good doesn't it?" Nicole sighs.

"Got to admit it does." He sits up with a groan. "Though I like to stay occupied and on the move."

Nicole looks over her shoulder—she took a liking to the tattoos now on his arm and the back of his hand. Hair a mess from sleep, his chest still bare as he wore a pair of black sweats.

Catching her staring, he smirks. "Want to say something?" Nicole smirks and looks away. "It's okay to give me a compliment."

"I'll let you know when you deserve one."

Tyler laughs at her.

Nicole smirk drops as she casted her eyes over him briefly.

"What is it?"

He knew her looks like the back of his hand. Nicole changed, but not her facial expressions. Those were something he knew by heart.

"Your time in the D.R. is almost up...." Nicole gives him a bittersweet smile.

Tyler smile creeps back in.  "Yeah, it is." Nicole looks off. "It's okay. I know you don't want to come back. I came out here on my own will remember? I just wanted to know you were okay."

Taking her hand, Nicole locks theirs together as she crawls over to straddle his lap.

Gripping a tight hold of her hips—he keeps her in place. Just a few days ago he wondered if she'd even speak to him when he showed up. Now here they sat together, finally closing that empty space he created when he couldn't heal from his own.
