Chapter Forty-Seven

Mia played with jack in the bassinet she had inside the kitchen.

"He's adorable." Letty smiles at him from next to her.

"Baby fever yet?"

Letty opens her mouth.

"Mom!" Nicole yells running in the kitchen. " I can't find my leather belt, and it's not where you told me it would be! My first day back and I'm late. I told dad wake me up at 7a.m, it's 7:35." Nicole brushes her hair with a tooth brush in her mouth. "Like is the phone in his pocket just decoration?" Letty opens her mouth to speak. "I know it tells time. I can't even find my tennis," Nicole throws up her hands. "and I know I checked ever-" A mental slap to herself. "Under my bed! Be right back."

Nicole runs out. A thump on the steps made Mia blink wide. Letty brow raised, a slow eye roll up as she pokes her tongue in her cheek.

"Haha," Nicole laugh nervously. "I'm okay!"

Letty slow blinks over to Mia. "To answer your question on the baby fever. No."

"Understandable." Mia nods. "Nicole is- she's enough."

"Forever." Letty nods, very sure.

"Mom I found them!" Nicole calls out from upstairs. "But ones missing a shoe lace! I need another one, mom!"

"And I mean she is it. Forever, Mia." Letty walks out.

"Mom!"

"Nicole! If you call me again, I will literally throw you in my trunk and lock it."

Mia chuckles, looking down at Jack. "You'll get used to it."

Coming in from out back, Dom wore his sleeve cut Toretto work vest with a white tank under and a pair of jeans.

"Morning."

"Hey, Dom." Mia smiles.

A yelling rant from upstairs made him snap his head.

"What is-"

"Nicole's getting ready for school."

"I should have stayed in the garage then."

"Probably." Mia giggles.

"Where's the Buster?" Dom heads for the fridge.

"Running some errands." Mia waves off. "He'll be back later."

Letty walks in mumbling threats in Spanish, making Dom give an amused side eye.

"Having fun?"

"Your kid is killing me."

Mia snickers.

"You sure know when to give up your parent card." Dom nods.

Letty smirks. "A gift. Did you see about the shop?"
