Bonus Chapter
"Alright you little demon." Queenie pulls up to the house. "Out."A sigh, Emery looks down. "Just a mess. Emery, I know you think this is the way to deal with your pain. Can you just be in your room like a normal person?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Cut it out." Queenie warns. "I've known you long enough to know when your grief takes over. You have to heal at some point." Emery says nothing, she felt the hand of her grandmother pushing her hair out of her face. Her eyes instantly going over to hers. "None of it was your fault."
"Still feels like it." Emery says. "She was my best friend."
"You can't save everyone."
"You managed to save your kids. That alone should be considered a miracle. Uncle Owen should have been airplane road kill. Am I correct?"
"You are. And I'm trying to save my only stubborn grandchild to." Queenie says, Emery smiles a bit. "Why do you think I call you Princess?"
"You said the Queen title was taken and no one could ever match."
"Well, yes." Queenie shrugs. "I call you that because that is what you are. To me and this family. You think Owen would sit in a child's classroom for anyone that isn't you? He wouldn't even sit in his own." Emery giggles. "Your father loves you, along with the rest of your family. That's what we are. Your mother didn't leave you with nothing. She left you with people who'd destroy a world for you, the first one being your father."
"He destroys anything moving in my direction."
"Exactly." Queenie points, Emery smiles. "You know what Princesses grow up to be?" Emery brow raised. "Queens."
"Will I be one like you?" Emery asks.
Queenie smirks. "Well on your way, lovely." Emery gives a lazy smile. "I love you, spoiled brat."
