Chapter 152

Xander looked around the warehouse to see the exits, that flex of his wrist to try the grip on the chair made him sigh to himself. The only way out the ropes grip is if someone cut him out or untie it. For the first time in a long time he needed the saving.

Raven heard the sounds from him. "Are you okay?"

Those eyes of his narrow back to her and he finds it in him to smile a bit as he lets out a scoff.

"You are in the same position I am in this place, and you are wondering if I'm okay?" Raven nods and he just chuckles. "You always been a brave woman, little bird."

"Don't talk to me like that."

Xander brows pulled. "Like what?"

"Like you are trying to remember me before something happens to you." Raven says. "I don't need to hear it and you don't need to say it."

"Raven."

"Xander I may be tied up but I will find some way to kick you from all the way over here."

That low chuckle from him as he sat back. "You can threaten me even in a time like this?"

"I'm sure it will hurt more coming from me."

In his pain he could smile at her, even with the glare she gave to him.

"It would."

"Good." Raven looks around the place.

"About what I told you...."

"You don't have to explain anything else."

"I feel like I have to."

Raven shakes her head. "Why?"

"How you see me means something..." Xander stares down at the table in thought. "Never thought another woman's image of me would mean so much but it does."

"Nothing about what you told me made me think any different of you."

Xander nods—he almost wanted to chuckle. "I have to get you out of here."

"Why are you just worried about me and not yourself? What if it's just you that makes it out?"

"It's funny you think I can picture my life without you or that little girl in it." He looks back at her. "Crazy how that woman can invade my thoughts. It always comes during the chaotic times which should be fitting."
