Chapter Seventy-Six

Coming back into the room; showered and dressed.

Tyler slips on a black button down mechanic vest with Mikaelson stitched above the right peck pocket. A white tank layered underneath and a silver chain around his neck. Black work pants and a pair of timberland boots.

Hearing movement behind him, he looked back to see Nicole adjusted and asleep on her side.

Hand hanging off the bed—she uses one arm underneath as her first pillow.

Smiling to himself, he walked over to put her hand up but noticed something on her wrist. As he stooped down, he lifts her wrist gentle enough to not wake her.

A few of the charms from her bracelet shimmering for the sun.

The last birthday gift he gave to her.

She still kept it after all this time....

Tyler eyes travel back to her sleeping face. Nicole's chest rising slowly—the peace on her face showing with each exhale.

A look at the time on the clock. He was a bit shocked to see her still sleeping, Nicole's usually the first up and the one to beat them to work in the morning. Yet today, she slept in.

Tyler places her hand back on the bed. Kissing her forehead, he brushed her cheek with his thumb.

"I'll see you later,"

Another lingering glance until he lets her go.

Going downstairs, he walks the dinning area and bends into the kitchen.

Camilla and Gia look up from the center island.

"Oh good, you two are here." He nods.

"Morning." Gia holds her coffee cup. "We were just about to head out to the shop."

"Yeah. I got inventory for the café coming in today." Camilla stretches on the stool. "That's if Nicole didn't already accept it."

"Doubt it." Tyler takes an apple out the basket. "Nicole is upstairs sleep."

Gia brow raised. "Nicole?"

"Yeah," Tyler shrugs, he watched the two exchange looks. "What ? That's normal."

"To who? She's usually the first one up." Gia lowers her mug. "Then again you guys got back late from the race. One of these days you all have to realize we have jobs in the morning." Her brows quirk. "Don't you think?"
