Chapter Eighty-Four

A month later....

Camilla walked outside to see Nicole sitting in the chair as normal.

Legs pulled to her chest as she just watched the waves from afar, but there was something loss. No sign of any life on her face or happiness, those brown eyes were cold and they had every right to be.

Nicole hadn't cried since the day they had to tell her. The doctor who delivered the child wanted to come and explain what happened but Nicole didn't want to know, she didn't want to hear anything from anyone. Everything about her had the world shut out and Camilla didn't blame her for it.

Xander offered to come up but Camilla told him it was no point. Nicole wouldn't talk to anyone, as they even barley got a nod from her. You could barley tell she was in the room from how quiet she walked around the house.

Elena had taken the month off to be with her but only she got through to her so far. Nicole just wouldn't let anyone inside. Not to talk about it, or anything. All she did is sleep, sit outside, often times come in the house but mostly she stayed close to the beach. What she did keep with her is the blanket Elena had gotten made for the baby and used it for her own when she would sit outside.

Talia had came back that same night and when she heard the news, Nicole had already began detaching herself from everyone.

As much as she wanted to stay, a family emergency was calling her home and Elena didn't mind. Talia had helped them all enough and it was time for her to go back and take care of her own family and focus back on the academy.

Talia continued to apologize to Nicole but Nicole just only nodded and only told her 'It was okay' before sending her on her way.

It was nothing else for her to say to anyone, she had lost everything from the start of the nine months to the end.

First she lost the father of her child and now her own child. As much as she wanted to cry and scream, a broken piece of her just could no longer cry anymore. It was numb. Everything around her felt entirely numb and she started to like it better.

Nicole played with the sleeves of her black hoodie as she covered her bare legs with the blanket her black shorts cut low as an ankle bracelet now set around it. The cross chain laying over the fabric, her hair stayed out in its natural state.

Fingers tracing the stitching in the blanket, Nicole held it close to her--her fist tightening it to her chest.

Elena walked outside, Camilla passes her on the way back in.

"Nicole." Elena heads over to the table. No movement from her but Elena knew she heard her, and has a seat with her. "Me and Camilla were about to get something for later. Did you want anything?" Nicole shakes her head. "You can't just not eat. I didn't even see you touch anything this morning."
