Chapter Seventy

4 Months Later....

Nicole had the hood up to her Charger as she worked on it.

Hair pulled up in a messy bun, a pair of baggy black sweatpants, and a black cropped graphic t-shirt. The cross chain showing around her neck as the deep v-neck cut showed some of her cleavage.

Listening to the radio, Nicole turned it up when she heard Don Omar come on. Tucking a few natural curled loose strands behind her ear—she twirls her wrench.

It had been a nice four months. Between being with Eric, traveling, and working on perfecting her trade when it came to cars. Getting to know a few of the neighbors had been nice and many people loved coming to her about their cars and getting her to fix them. It earned her some more money and another steady income.

Nicole made sure to call her parents once or twice every new month, but considering they were both off traveling, she wanted to give them some well deserved space.

Mia never missed a call from her niece. Her and Brian were so close to having their little girl and Nicole couldn't be anymore happier for the two. She made sure to send down a basket for them with a toy skyline packed inside.

Another little cousin to add to the family. Jack made sure to learn how to work his new tablet as he video called Nicole whenever he got the chance to.

Asking her random questions, and about when she was coming to visit home.

As much as Nicole wanted to tell him a date, she didn't have it in her to go back to everyone. Out here she could find her independence and understand being on her own.

The door slides open to the back.

"There she is."

Eric walks out, Nicole looks up from her engine with a smile.

"Hey,"

The buttons undone at the top of his collared button down, his sleeves rolled up. A deep navy blue shirt that he wore with a pair of black slack pants.

"I thought I left you in bed?"

Him hugging her from behind made Nicole giggle through her work.

"Am I supposed to lay there all day?"

"After last night? Yes." Eric says.
