-Rose's POV-

"T-Tom!" I shouted, struggling to stay on my surfboard. "I told you I can't surf!"

Today, I was hanging out with Tom and his family at the Lucitor Beach Cabin. Tom and I were surfing, though I protested heavily. I struggled to stay on my board, trying not to fall into the lava. Even though I was wearing a rose red lava suit, I was still nervous about falling into the water. Tom looked back at me, shouting, "Try summoning Cloudy! Cloudy knows how to!"

"How does HE know?!" I shouted back.

"Star uses him to surf!"

I blinked, surprised that Tom knew this. I quickly summoned Cloudy under my feet to steady my red surfboard. It had a green star in the middle of it, the same as my Mewni mark. The moment Cloudy took control, the board was more stable. I relaxed and held my arms out to the side to steady myself. I smiled and directed Cloudy to surf next to Tom. tom glanced at me and smirked. He gave me a finger gun, saying, "Excuse me, miss. Couldn't help but notice that that lava suit really "suits" you."

I giggled at the pun, playing along. "Well, you don't look so bad yourself, stranger. Well, maybe a little bit bad."

"Roar," Tom said, lifting his hands a little like claws. I laughed, directing Cloudy to the shore. I shouted behind me, "Last one ashore is a rotten gargoyle egg!"

"Oh no, ya don't!" Tom replied, surfing towards me. Tom nearly beat me to shore, but I already was ahead so I won. I hopped off the surfboard and removed the lava suit helmet from my head. My hair fell out of the helmet and down to my mid back. I huffed slightly in annoyance; I need to get it cut at some point. Tom tilted his head, "What's up?"

"How'd you think I look with my hair short?" I asked, taking off my lava suit. Tom shrugged, "I don't know. I've always seen you with long hair."

"Hmm." I balled up the lava suit and tossed it at Tom. He caught it as I said, " Well, this had been so much fun, but I gotta go now."

"Aw, you leaving already? The party's just getting started!" Tom protested. But I turned away to say goodbye to his parents. His dad, Dave Lucitor, was sitting next to his wife, Wrathmelior Lucitor. Compared to her husband, she was about the size of the ball room at Butterfly castle. If I recalled correctly, during the Silver Bell Ball, she was having trouble with the ceiling chandelier. I looked at the couple, saying, "Thank you so much for the wonderful day, everyone. Lord and Lady Lucitor, it was a pleasure to see you again."

Lord Lucitor patted his wife's knee, saying, "Yeah, well, some of us are pretty hard to miss." His wife giggled and I turned to Lady Lucitor's sister, Exasperella, and her boyfriend, Gloominus. She was a smaller, brighter red imp. She had the same three eyes and horns as her sister, and even same hair style, except hers was white. She had a pair of light purple bat wings and wore a light pink, sleeveless dress. She was sitting in the beach chair, sipping some juice. Her boyfriend was a pale green blob. He...honestly looked gross. But I didn't say anything. He sat in the beach chair next to her, looking pretty gloomy. I smiled as politely as I could, saying, "And Gloominus, Exasperella, wonderful meeting you both."

"Well, it was a pleasure, dearie," Exasperella said, waving a dismissive hand. Gloominus raised an arm, saying casually, "You know, I was a mean tap dancer 20 years ago."

An awkward silence followed and Tom cleared his throat. "So, where are you going, Rose?" He asked. Cloudy floated over to me and I climbed onto his back. "I gotta help Marco and Star make dinner for his family."
