Hey guys! So, whose going to win? Let's jump in and find out! :D
-Rose's POV-
"WOOHOO!" I cheered, as Star, Marco and I raced for the base of the mountain. I never knew how exciting a game of Flags felt. Such an adrenaline rush! We reached the rocks and started to climb up. As Star and I helped each other up, I heard behind me, "Star, Rose, a little help?"
I looked in time to see my uncle Heartrude, offering Marco a 'Hand'. But I knew this trick; he did this several years back. "Marco, No!" I shouted, just as he took my uncle's 'hand'. A servant slipped out of my uncle's sleeve and Marco fell back, with the servant falling after him. My uncle laughed and raced past Star and I. Star said, "Nice one, Uncle Heartrude."
I rolled my eyes; normally, I would've followed suit with Star, but not when it came to hurting Marco or Star. We made it to Marco, who managed to free himself from the servant's hold. "Star, why did you congratulate him?!" Marco said. "He pulled me down!"
"That's how your suppose to play it," she explained. She grabbed my wrist and said, "We need to keep moving." Star led the way as Marco and I ran behind her. We raced past our uncle, and Star and I didn't say anything. But Marco taunted at him for a little bit before we raced on ahead. Eventually, she let go of my wrist and I ran beside her. "I haven't had this much fun since, ever!" I shouted, feeling myself smile.
"Rose, this is why you need to relax more," Star said. "Hang on, we're entering the rain zone." Star and I ran into the rain zone, and I couldn't help but giggle. Feeling an adrenaline rush, while standing in the rain made me feel more energetic and ready for this game then before.
"Oh, no. I can do King of the Hill. I cannot do wet socks," Marco said, crossing his arms. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his wrist, pulling him into the rain with Star and I.
"Flags doesn't care what you like," I commented, as I felt a surge of energy. I smiled and looked around, feeling like I could run a marathon. I tightened my grip on Marco's wrist and smiled, "We need to keep moving."
Star ran ahead of me as I led Marco through the rain. As we ran, we noticed some vines grab two of my uncles and pull them into the ground. Marco stared in horror and I cut him off saying, "Eyes on the prize!"
I let go of his wrist and raced ahead of Star, shouting, "Pass me the flag!" She nodded and tossed the flag to me. I caught and raced up the hill, the rain hitting my face. Just then, I skidded to a stop with Marco and Star stopping beside me. One of our uncle's had used the rod of his flag to conduct electricity from a lightening strike. With the pole charged, he slammed the flag into the ground, causing the ground to tear up and boulders to start falling.
The thunder rumble; a classic Johansen move.
"Rose, we HAVE to go back!" Marco shouted. I felt another rush of energy as I gripped my flag tightly, getting ready for the boulders coming towards me.
"Were never going back," I said, racing towards the boulders. Star cheered as I jumped over the boulders and skipped from one to he other. I grinned and sprinted faster once I landed. I was about to move ahead when Marco shouted, "I think your family's really trying to hurt each other!"
"Yeah! Isn't it great?" I said, smiling at Star and him. Star and Marco flinched and they glanced at each other.
"Rose, how about I take the flag?" Star asked. I narrowed my eyes at her and said, "It's fine. I got it. We need to keep moving anyway."
We raced up the hill, Star and Marco falling behind as I raced faster up the hill. I ran past one of my relatives as he rolled past us. We made it to the snow zone, but that didn't slow me down. I skipped through the snow, trying not to sink into the several feet of snow.
