Close Call

Hey guys! Part two to this intense episode! Anyway, here's the new chapter! :D

-Rose's POV-

"Now hand over the wand," Ludo said, his hand extended towards Star's wand, "or there's going to be a big mess in aisle...What aisle is this?" He looked at the sloth clerk, but he all he said was, "That's not my department," and walked away.

My head started to pound again, and I put my head to my forehead, feeling dizzy. Star looked at me concerned, and pointed her wand towards the monsters. "Rainbow Avalanche!" she screamed, but a squirt of rainbow water came from her wand, and spilled to the floor. She started to shake it, and started to grow nervous. My necklace started to glow a little, but it sent a shock through me, and I collapsed, slipping through Marco's grip.

"Star!" I said weakly, as she tried to use the Narwhal Nightmare spell. It sent another shock through me, " Stop! The necklace is being affected as well."

"Just take it off!" she said, shaking her wand. I grabbed the chain, but a shock went through me, and immediately I let go. "Great," I mumbled.

"What now?!" Marco said, helping me up.

"Because of how low the energy is, it's protection spell is malfunctioning, so I can't take it off."

"Well, how lucky for me then," Ludo commented, "get me that wand!" Half the monsters split up and went after Star. Ludo then pointed a finger at me and said, "Grab the princess! She is weak!" Something in me snapped, and I was able to stand up better. "Excuse me?!" I said. I grabbed a bow of the Big Boy diapers, and threw it at one of the monsters. It hit the monster, and I kept throwing.

Bu the burst of adrenaline didn't last long, and I feel on one knee. Just as Spiked Balls lifted his hand to smash me, Marco tackled and got both of us out of the way. He helped me up and said, "Star! The map shows we can get to the charger aisle by the elevator!" Star looked at Marco, then to me. "Marco, carry Rose! I'm afraid she may not make it!"

"No wait-" I said, but Marco had already swung his arms under my legs and started carrying me, bridal style. My face grew hot and I mumbled curses under my breath at Star. Marco looked at me, "Hang in there Rose, we're not giving up on you yet."

I stopped mumbling, and noticed the monsters closing in. I noticed a box, and was about to tell Marco an idea. He seemed to get the idea when I looked at him, because as we ran towards the elevator, he kicked boxes up, so I caught them and threw them at the monsters. We made it to the elevator, and Marco pressed a button. Instantly the doors closed and the elevator shot up, towards the charger aisle. I wiggled in Marco's arms, and he out me down. I leaned heavily against the glass, trying to slow my breathing which was speeding up.

"How are you holding up?" Marco asked, worried.

"I'll...be fine," I panted, feeling sweat build on my forehead. Was I running a fever? Just then, the elevator suddenly stopped, and the jerk made my legs buckle. I fell but Marco caught me. "We stopped," I said. I looked at Marco, scared, "Why did we stop?!" Star had opened the door and climbed out. Marco helped me out, and I looked at a sign on the elevator, just as Marco climbed out. It was an "Out of Order," sign. I groaned.

The south clerk is heavily bandaged, and is standing off to the side. "Sorry folks," he said, "the elevator is no longer working. Welcome to the booby trap department. Please watch your step-" before he could finish, a giant mouse trap landed on him. We gasped but he said, "Don't help me up! I get worker's comp for this."

Okay...I'm a bit concerned for that guy's sanity now. Just then, the elevator dinging, and a big Slug man, comes squeezing through the doors, causing a lot of slim to splash on the floor. He smiled, and turned to the goo covered monsters, "See you guys later! uh guys?" He starts turning, trying to find Ludo. Ludo was stuck to the slug man's back. He sees us, and is able to lift his arm, and point at us, saying, "Get 'em!"
