Televised Disaster

Hey guys! We're back with Rose and the gang as things continue on Mewni. What's going on now? Let's jump in and find out! :D

-Rose's POV-

"Star, explain to me again why we're doing this," I muttered, feeling my right eye twitch.

Star, Eclipsa, Rhea and myself were standing backstage on Pony Head's new show, 'The PonyHead Show'. Pony Head had a whole room dedicated for the stage and show set up in her castle, as well as a few extra dressing rooms for the guests on the show. Marco and Kelly were off on the side on another platform of the show. Apparently they had a cooking segment in the show. I smiled a little, a bit proud that Marco could show off his cooking skills. I caught myself staring at the two and turned back to Star. She explained, "Rose, we agreed to talk to Pony Head about this, remember?"

"Yeah but-" I sighed, trying to find the words. I gestured to Pony Head. "Did it have to be her?"

Star rolled her eyes and turned to Eclipsa, "Okay, well, this probably seems kind of weird, but Pony Head totally knows what she's doing. And I'm...I'm so excited she's going to put you on her show."

"It's been a while since I've performed in front of an audience, but if you think it's a good idea..." Eclipsa said, hugging her guitar. Star nodded confidently, "Oh, it's a good idea."

Star then pulled out her compatible mirror phone. She showed the screen to not only Eclipsa, but Rhea and I as well. Though, mostly me since Rhea was blind and wasn't looking in the right direction. "Look, Seahorse even set it up so that everyone can watch. And we can gauge how much the audience likes it," Star explained. At that moment, the number on the 'dislike' went up by one. I raised an eyebrow at Star, questioning this.

Eclipsa seemed to be questioning it too, "And you're sure this'll get the public on our side?"

"Oh, I know it will. If there's one thing Pony Head knows, it's popularity." As if the universe was against her, Pony Head on the screen, "And now...staring contest!"

She stared at the screen and the show got seven more dislike votes. The three of us exchanged looks as Rhea asked, "Was that noise the dislike or the like votes?"

"D-Dislike," I said. I sighed and said, "Star, what about Rhea? I know Eclipsa is going to play, but what about her?"

"Don't worry, Rose," Rhea said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I may not be able to play an instrument, but I can see. Eclipsa and I were know to be a good duet back in the day."

Eclipsa gasped, excitement in her eyes. She took Rhea's hands, bouncing slightly on her toes. "You have to sing with me," She said. "It'll be like old times."

Rhea smiled, nodding in agreement. "It'll also help you with your stage fright," Rhea pointed out. Eclipsa nervously laughed, not wanting to admit the truth. Just then, we all heard Pony Head say, " You have been a great audience, but let's face it, I've been an even greater host. We'll be right back, so don't get lonely. But first, a message from our sponsors."

Pony Head Flew off stage as Seahorse took to the stage. He held out a compatible mirror phone, advertising, "The Ponyhead Show is brought to you by the new Reflectacorp Mirror Deluxe. To access your new mirror, you just need to give a sample of your DNA."

He licked the phone and I shivered in disgust. Pony Head flew towards us but stopped when her sisters Azniss and Khrysthalle started doing her makeup. Before they could finish, Pony Head saw us and her eyes widen. "Hold up right now!" She shouted, pushing her sisters away. She flew over to us and glared at Eclipsa's guitar, "What the heck is that?"

"Pony Head, we talked about this. Rhea and Eclipsa are going to perform," Star said. Pony Head shook her head, "What? No, I did not say anything about having them perform. They're just supposed to be on the show, like, you know, like, just, like, sit there and, like, just, like, be good."
