Hey guys! So you heard the rumors and I'm here to confirm. This is a big chapter. If there are any questions about this afterwards, ask away, so long it doesn't lead to future spoilers. Anyway, here is the long awaited chapter! :D
-Rose's POV-
"Rose?" I heard. I looked up from the spell book to see Star running over to me. Star, Marco and I were at the school gym, helping set up for the school dance that was tonight. Star and Marco were assigned to do stuff while I was put on stand by, in case they needed anymore help.
At the moment, I was looking through the spell book and one spell had caught my eye. It was a spell that Auntie Stella had made. Since she was the one who mostly helped make the healing spells in this book, it made sense she made this one. But why was a surrogate spell needed? I didn't have much time to think about it since Star called my name.
I placed a book mark in the book and looked up at Star. "What's up?" I asked, as Star stood in front of me.
"Could you help Marco with the banner?" Star asked. "I need to get a drink of water."
I nodded and placed the book down on the bleacher. I walked over to the stage where Marco was. As I held the ladder, Marco climbed up and started tying the banner string to the air vent. As he tied it, he then said, "Thanks for, uh, agreeing to go with me tonight Rose. Dances make me a little anxious."
I smiled a little. Marco was so nervous about tonight's dance he asked me to go with him. As a friend though, he clarified. I said yes but my heart skipped a beat when he asked. I'm not sure why but I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. "What are you so worried about?" I asked, as Marco finished up tying the banner.
"Well, I had a nightmare that I came to the dance alone, and everyone laughed and threw tomatoes at me! Then all my teeth fell out, oh and then Jackie saw me and said I looked pasty," Marco, curling into a ball on the ladder. I giggled and said, "That's not gonna happen. It'll be fine."
Suddenly, the ladder shook and I looked up in time to see Marco come slamming down on me. I groaned and felt him grab my leg and say, "My leg, I can't feel my leg!"
"That's my leg!" I said, looking at Marco. "Oh," he said, relaxing a little. He let go of my leg and got off of me. He helped me up and I asked, "What happened?"
"I just saw a huge rat in the air duct," Marco said, pointing up at the air vent. I scowled in disgust and said, "This place is a dump."
"Rose!" Marco and I heard. We both turned and saw Star and Janna gesturing me to come over. I looked at Marco and said, "I'll be right back."
I jumped down from the stage and rushed over to Janna and Star. I smiled and asked, "Did you get it?"
Janna nodded and opened the box she was holding. Inside, was a brown cake with white icing on it with blue letters. Saying, "Happy Birthday Bon Bon." Star gasped at the sight of the cake and said, "Cake on a plate."
"It's time to find out if the legend is true," Janna said, looking at me with a spooky look. I giggled and said creepily, "Will Bon Bon come back?"
"Just like his candles?" Star, Janna and I chorused together. We all busted out into laughter and Star said, "This seance is gonna be epic!"
"I will see you two tonight at seven," Janna said. Star nodded and I said, "I'll see you tonight at... wait what?"
Janna furrowed her brow and said, "Yeah. Bon Bon said he'd be back on his 100th death day, and that's tonight."
"Nooo! I thought it was tomorrow. I promised Marco I'd be his dance buddy tonight. His teeth might fall out if he goes alone," I said, glancing Star. She sighed and said, "What are you gonna remember more, high school dance or dead clowns seance?"
