Hey guys! We're back with Rose and the gang as things continue with crazy things. What will happen today? Let's jump in and find out! :D
-Rose's POV-
"Faster Marco," Star shouted from behind him. "Faster!"
Marco had taken both Star and I on a bicycle ride on his bike. I've always been fascinated by these things. I read about it once and was excited. But the idea of ever riding one scared me. Star stood on the spokes behind Marco, while I sat in front of the bike. Marco gasped for air as we went uphill. I glanced at him, "Are you alright?"
"Fine," he said, sounding a bit harsh. I flinched, and kept looking ahead. Ever since a couple days ago when I left the letter on his bed, he hasn't said a single word to me about it. I assumed he read the letter, but.....was he upset by it? I wasn't sure. I've been trying to talk to him, but he's been acting a bit harsh lately. I would have to talk to him about it later.
I looked ahead and saw stairs. Star cheered but I gripped the handle bars, feeling a bit worried some. "Yay! Stairs!" she said as we went. We bumped down the stairs, Star probably the only one enjoying it. Marco seemed fed up by this and said, "That's it."
"Huh?" we both said, as he stopped in a parking lot. He got off the bike, and put the kick stand up, saying, "If you guys like bike riding so much, then you two should learn it."
"I volunteer Rose first!" Star said, pointing at me. I quickly looked at her, confused, but then Marco said, "I'll teach you first Rose."
"Uh.....okay," I said, as Star and I got off the bike. As Marco explained about the bike, Star whispered in my ear, "Now you'll get some time to hang with just Marco! Isn't this great?"
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"I know you like him!"
I felt my face heat up and said, "Star! Don't jump to conclusions. We're just friends. Besides, doesn't he have a crush on Jackie?"
Star froze, her face dropping, "Wait, you remembered that?"
"Yes, I do. I don't want to get in the way of that possibility for Marco."
Star bit her bottom lip, looking nervous. "You don't get it do you?" she mumbled.
Before I could question her, Marco said, "Alright, Rose. You ready?"
"huh? yes!" I said, walking over to the bike. Marco held the seat of the bike, keeping it steady as I climbed on it. I placed my feet on the pedals. "Alright, now you want to start pedaling," he explained. I griped the handle bars, nervous.
"Promise you won't let go?" I asked.
"I promise," he said. I nodded and sighed, starting to push on the pedals. The bike slowly started moving, but as I kept pedaling, the bike started going faster and I started relaxing. "Hey," I said, feeling excited. "I think I'm getting the hang of this!"
"That's great!" I heard Marco say.
"I think you can let go of the seat now Marco."
"Way ahead of you Rose."
The realization hit me, and I looked, seeing that Marco wasn't behind me anymore. I gripped the handle bars tightly, fear taking over me now. "You lied?" I said, surprised and scared for my life.
"AW, come on," Marco said. "I did it to boost your confidence. And your doing great! I taught you everything!"
"Except how to stop!" I screamed, as the bike started to go down hill. The pedals started spinning so fast, I had to remove my feet so that I wouldn't hurt myself. I heard Marco shout, "USE THE BRAKES!"
