Hey guys! I'm finally back with another chapter of this lovely story. How will things turn out? Let's jump in and find out! :D
-Rose's POV-
"Deep in the sand, a wicked ember glows. Though all around, a chilling wind doth blow. With heat and spark and smoke uncurled, bring forth the fires of the Underworld!" Tom chanted. The campfire in the middle of our group blazed to life and we each placed our marshmallows over the open fire.
Marco, Star, Tom, Kelly and I were at the Underworld beach called, 'Lava Lake Beach.' Star suggested in bringing in Kelly along since she's been down in the dumps lately. I wasn't given specifics but I think it might've had to do with her boyfriend. It's a good thing we did; she seems to be much happier now then before. Kelly was a friend of Star's and, be default of being related to Star, I became friends with her. She had long puffy minty green hair. She was wearing a white and purple striped shirt and shorts. Her dark skin showed how much she was out in the sun, sparring most of the time. She had dark eyes and, at the moment, I could see a lingering sadness. I shook my head though and focused on my marshmallow.
As I roasted my marshmallow, I glanced up and looked out over the black sand and towards the lava lake. It really was pretty, and it would be even cooler later tonight during the Soulrise. I glanced at Star and noticed she was wearing her pink and white sailor swimsuit. I gave her an annoyed look, "You only wore that to match with me, didn't you?"
"Maaaaaaybe?" Star said, eating her marshmallow. "I know just how much you love to match."
I groaned, regretting wearing my green and white sailor swimsuit. I stared back over the lake water as Star said, "I love how spoooooky Underworld beaches are."
"Isn't that kind of the Underworld's... thing?" Marco asked. Tom nodded, "Yup, it's pretty metal. Um, Rose?"
"Huh?" I asked, looking back at him. He pointed at the fire and, when I looked, I saw my marshmallow was on fire. I squeaked and pulled my stick back, seeing I had a burning ball of marshmallow instead. I sighed, "Dang it. I burnt it."
"How about we trade? I like mine to be burnt anyway," Tom said, offering me his marshmallow. I smiled and said, "Thanks, Tom. That's so sweet."
We traded marshmallows and Tom blew out the fire on his. I took a bite out of mine, enjoying the gooey texture of the warm marshmallow. Just then, I heard Marco say, "Wait a second. Is that one of my hoodies?"
I looked over and saw Tom was wearing one of Marco's hoodies. But the sleeves had been torn off. I looked at Star and said, "I don't remember giving him that. Did you give that to him?"
"Yeah, I gave him a spare one for the beach," Star said. Star elbowed me and whispered, "Doesn't he look cuuuuuute?"
I pushed Star away, but I did blush slightly seeing Tom wear it. Tom gestured to the hoodie, saying, "I gave it a little custom job. You want me to do yours?"
"No!" Marco said. Tom grabbed another marshmallow and started to roast it over the fire. At that moment, Marco's marshmallow melted off and onto the sand. He sighed and I said, "Let me see if we have anymore."
I looked around at the beach supplies we brought, the pink kitty umbrella, the beach towels, the coolers. But there wasn't any sign of the marshmallow bag. I sat down and said, "I think we're all out."
"Kelly, can I have some of yours?" Marco asked. Kelly looked at Marco after taking a bite out of one of her four marshmallows. "Um, I actually licked all of these," She said.
Marci sighed, "Okay, never mind."
I glanced over at Tom and noticed he still had a marshmallow roasting. "Tom, do you mind if Marco were to have the last one?" I asked. Tom smiled, "I don't mind. Here you go, dude."
