A Better Place

Hey guys! We're back with the last part of this story! This last part will be wrapping up how things go with Rose as she still has a few things left to get fixed. With that being said, let's jump in and find out what's going on! :D

-Star's POV-

It was the same dream every night.

I wake up back in the Magical Dimension. But not with all the unicorns, and glowing golden magic. But when it was slowly breaking and falling apart. When the magic had turned a dark green, the unicorns were gone and all the magic crystals were vanishing. I always find myself standing in the middle of the dimension, the chaos happening all around. And as the various fountains are fading, I see her in the distance. I see my sister, Rose. Her back is always to me but she always looks the same. Wearing the same outfit on that day, her short hair moving slightly in the stormy weather. And every time, I do the same thing: I start running towards her. When I first started having this dream, I could hardly reach her. But with every chance I have this dream, I get closer to her. And every time, I call her name, but my voice never carries over the noise of everything happening. Once I start moving towards her, it becomes more and more difficult to reach her. Either the water starts to rise, the wind becomes too strong, or even my feet get stuck. Regardless, I try to reach her. But before I could grab her hand, something happens in the dream and I wake up.

And I find myself lying in bed in a cold sweat.

I took a few steady breath before letting out a tired sigh. I press the heels of my hands into my eyes, groaning. I failed again to reach her. I just know that once I'm able to reach Rose, the dream will change. I...don't have any proof of this but, I know something is going to happen. I can feel it in my gut. Until then, I'll keep trying. And I won't stop trying. Even if it takes me another two years to try and find her. I slam my hands on the side of my bed and sat up, determined to get ready for the day.

I hopped out of bed and turned my phone on, opening some upbeat music to play. As it played, I got ready for the day. After brushing my hair and teeth, I put on my teal narwhal dress with striped socks and monster boots. I put on my red horned headband and grabbed my small star purse. I glanced at myself in the mirror, making sure I looked okay. As I fixed my hair, I glanced at the photos around the mirror. Many photos of Marco and I were pinned up along the edge, but one hung at the right corner of the mirror. It was the photo we took the time, Marco, Rose and I went to the beach. I smiled; we were so young, unaware of the things that what happened. Now, two years later, it feels like a lifetime ago. Not much has changed about me though: still same long blonde hair, eyes and slightly taller. Still liked the same clothes and, even without magic, Earth is still an amazing place to be at. Especially since the Convergence of Dimensions. Or, as I like to call it, Cod.

"Star! Are you awake?" I heard. I looked to my door and said, "Yeah! I'll be down in a bit!"

"Okay! Mom says breakfast is on the table!"

I looked back at the mirror and realized what I was missing. I hurried back to my dresser and grabbed a pair of small, golden colored earrings. They were shaped like little stars; gifts from Marco for a past birthday. Putting them on, I hurried out of my room and down the stairs. I slide down the railing of the stairs and swung around the stairs, running into the kitchen. Marco, Mr. and Mrs. Diaz and Mariposa were sitting at the dining table. I stood in the doorway, staring at the family. Everyone had grown and it showed. Mr. and Mrs. Diaz each were starting to show some gray hairs and a bit of wrinkles. But it was hard to notice at first by how energetic they still were. Mariposa was much bigger now; she was walking around on her own and her hair has grown. However, Mariposa had grown fussy lately. She hasn't been her usual self. Even now, she was squirming in her highchair.
