A Knight and His Princess

Hey guys! We're back with Rose as her adventures on Mewni continue. What'll happen today? Let's jump in and find out! :D

-Rose's POV-

Today was the day.

It was an important day. So important that I hardly slept a wink the night before, because I was so excited for today. I sat in my seat next to Star, my toes lightly tapping against the ground. She lightly elbowed me, whispering, "Star, I can hear your feet."

"Sorry," I whispered back. "I'm excited. I can't wait for Marco's turn."

"He's next, so wait patiently." I nodded and watched Eclipsa and Rhea step forward the the next squire. Today was the Knighting Ceremony. Eclipsa and Rhea were both dressed up for the event, as they both were knighting the squires today. Eclipsa's dress was different from her normal attire. The skirt was blue while the torso was white, the skirt matching her flats. Along the hem, collar and sleeves, were a peacock feather designed, rimmed with gold colored threading. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail as she held a sword in her hands. Rhea stood behind Eclipsa, wearing a Sunday-styled dress. It was light, and flowy. It was a pastel pink with tiny yellow flowers along the hem. With thin shoulder straps, covered by a white cardigan, she had taken her hair out of it's usual braid. The length of her hair went to her ankles, but it still looked healthy. She wore black sandals where the straps wrap up her ankles to her mid-shin. She still had her gloves, as they were the magical artifact.

"For cunning acts throughout the Groundlands and the swamp," Eclipsa lifted the sword and gently placed it on the shoulder of the alligator monster squire. "I knight you Sir Cuddles of Hugs-"

A loud sob echoed throughout the room, catching everyone's attention. Eclipsa looked and a monster who looked to be the mother of the squire, cried out, "You're just gonna cut off his head?! Right here?! In front of his own mother?!"

"Uh... no. I was going to make him a knight," Eclipsa explained. Rhea gestured to the whole room, adding, "This is a KNIGHTING ceremony. For knighting KNIGHTS."

The mother crocodile wiped her eyes and nose. She sniffled, "Uh, well... S-Sorry. I just...You know, when a monster sees a queen with a sword...I mean, don't we all just think that...? My son's gonna be a knight!"

She continued to sob and Eclipsa looked at Rhea in confusion. Sir Cuddles cleared his throat and muttered, "You know, she's gonna cry no matter what. That's what she does. So... maybe you want to go on to the next guy."

"Sounds good," She whispered, winking. Sir Cuddles stood up and joined the other knights. Eclipsa and Rhea moved the the last knight, knelt down on the ground. "And last but certainly not least...Marco Diaz,"" Eclipsa announced. The knight removed his red hoodie, revealing Marco.

"Also known as Princess Turdina," Rhea added. I covered my mouth as I giggled. Star pumped her fist and muttered, "Yes."

"For his noble and dedicated service to the throne of Mewni, I knight you Sir Marco of Earth," Eclipsa said, gently lifting her sword and tapping his shoulder. Marco muttered something to Eclipsa that I couldn't hear, but she gestured for Marco to go stand with the others newly knighted knights. Eclipsa and Rhea chorused together, "Introducing the new Knights of Mewni – Sir Marco, Lady Higgs, Sir Babyman, Sir Oldman, and Sir Cuddles."

Everyone stood up and started clapping, cheering for the new knights. The knights dispersed and Star and I rushed over to Marco. Star tackled him in a hug as I sheepishly joined them, hiding Marco's gift behind my back. "Marco! Oh, congratulations!"

Marco chuckled, "Thanks Star." He looked at me and I glanced away, really nervous. I swallowed and said, "C-Congrats, Marco. I made you a gift."

Star wrapped her arm around my shoulders, saying, "It's a super cool gift! Come on, Rose, show him! You worked so hard on it!"
