Hey guys! We're almost to the end! What's going to happen then?! Anyway, here's the new chapter! :D
-Rose's POV-
"Star!" I shouted, pulling her back into the bus. "Stop sticking your head out of the window! Your going to hit something!"
We had a field trip today to the Paper clip museum. Star seemed overly excited, but Marco and I not so much, since paper clips, as I've learned aren't fun. She sat back down in the bench in front of Marco and I. Marco was on his phone, looking at something. I sat back down and Star looked over her seat at us, looking curiously at Marco's phone. I glanced at his phone, "What are you doing?"
He smirked and sent a text message. My phone vibrated and when I looked, I couldn't help but smile and awe. He had sent a cute cat picture. "It's adorable, Marco," I said. "But I'm sitting right next to you."
"I know, but I thought it would be cute for you to see it," he said. I smiled and gave Marco a questioning look. "Your not going to keep this up all day are you?"
"What? No! O-Of course not!" he said, laughing nervously. I glanced at Star and we both knew he was going to keep it up. Just then, the bus stopped and Star grabbed my hand and said, "We're here! Let's go, field trip buddy!"
She dragged me out of the bus and I waved to Marco. That was probably why he was texting me those pictures. As Star and I went into the museum, with the class behind us, we came to the first display, which was just a paperclip. I rolled my eyes but Star awed and said, "Amazing! What is it?"
"It's a paper clip," I mumbled. The class came up behind us and Marco was behind me, looking bored too. "Luckily, I've got my phone," he said, pulling it out to text something. But Ms. Skullnick took it and said, "No distractions, Diaz. As for the rest of you," at this she used her megaphone, and yelled into it, making all of us cover our ears from the volume of it. "No monkey business! This is the Echo Creek Museum of Paper Clips. We are going to spend the next eight hours learning about the genius of this little bent wire."
Everybody moaned and I couldn't help but moan myself. This really was going to be a boring field trip. "Ms. Skullnick, don't you think this is kind of boring?" I asked.
"Well you know what," she said. She raised her megaphone right into my face and blasted her voice through it, saying, "Life is boring!"
I covered my ears as the ringing was intense. Star looked shocked at what just happened and turned to Ms. Skullnick. "Life's suppose to be fun!" she protested.
"I used to think that," she said to Star. "But now I'm fifty and all my dreams in in the rear view mirror. The best thing in my life is teaching you kids, and I hate teaching you."
"Didn't you just contradict yourself?" I asked, rubbing my ears. but both Ms. Skullnick and Star ignored me, since the conversation started to get heated.
"That's cause your doing it all wrong," Star said plainly. Ms. Skullnick then said, "You think you can lead this trip better then me?"
"Lady I was born to lead," at this, Star twirled her wand and said, "Literally." Ms Skullnick laughed and said, "Okay, go ahead then. And once you fail, maybe these kids will actually respect me."
I felt a twinge of pity for Ms. Skullnick, but I was mostly filled with worry. Star was in charge now?! Star turned and said to everybody, "Who wants to go somewhere not boring?"
Everybody cheered and she turned to me, saying, "Leader's assistant, give me the scissors please."
"Star, is this really a good idea?" I asked her. She looked at me and said, "Come on, Rose. Just give me the scissors."
