Lending a Claw

Hey guys! I think that was everybody who submitted a picture for the contest. Anyway, here's the new chapter! :D

-Rose's POV-

Nothing wakes you up to the sound of your sister and your crush fighting a bunch of monsters in the morning. My alarm clock didn't go off, and I was already rushing to get ready for school. Just as I grabbed my back pack, my necklace glowed, indicating that Star was using her wand.

"What is she using it for now?" I said, irritated. I ran onto the balcony and gasped. Ludo and his monsters were fighting Star and Marco.

"HEY!" I shouted, causing everybody to look up. I threw my back pack and it smacked Bearicorn in the face. "You guys forgot to invite me to the party!" I yelled, making a great leap from the balcony. Star and Marco took their chance to continue fighting. I landed on the ground, and dashed towards Bearicorn. "Rainbow Lava blast!" I shouted. Rainbows as hot as lava shot from my hands and hit Bearicorn. He yelled in pain, and I chuckled, "Feel the burn."

"AHH!" I heard. I spun around and saw that Deer Beard had gotten Star. "STAR!" I screamed, about to run to her. I then noticed Marco got dog piled by a couple more monsters. He looked at me and said, "Help Star! I'm fine!" I nodded and dashed towards her.

"Stop her!" I heard Ludo shouted. Three eyed-potato baby jumped on my back and tackled me to the ground, pinning me down.

"Get off of me you fat baby!" I screamed, angry now. They can't get to Star; it was my job to make sure she's safe and that the wand doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Ludo yelled at Lobster claws, telling him to get the wand. Lobster claws ran over to Star and, instead of grabbing the wand, he accidentally clipped Deer Beard's antler off. Deer Beard screamed in pain, allowing Star the chance to get up.

"Poison Crystal Cupcake Blast" she yelled jumping up into the air. I covered my head as the cupcakes rained down. The monsters started yelling in pain, and three eyed potato baby got off of me and started running. I quickly got up, and saw that Marco had gotten up too. Crystal cupcakes were still falling, because nearly hit Marco over the head.

"Get down!" I yelled, and we both dropped to the ground. Just then, I heard the sound of feet hitting the ground. I looked up and saw that Star had finished her spell. I was about to get up, when I saw a hand extended towards me. I looked up to see Marco holding my backpack in his other hand. "Come on, we're going to be late for school," he said. I took his hand, and he helped me up. I put my backpack on and we went over to Star. She then turned to Ludo, who was lying on the ground.

"That was fun!" she said, "But we got to get to school now. Ooh, your on my backpack."

Ludo grabbed Star's backpack and gave it to her. She grabbed it and we started running for the bus stop. We made it just in time, as the last kid was getting on the bus. We all rushed onto the bus, and we all sat down, not really thinking of where we were sitting or who was sitting next to who. I sighed and leaned my head, on what I thought was Star's shoulder.

"Man, Star, you need to stop picking fights with monsters so early in the morning," I said yawning.

"Um, Rose, I'm on your right," I heard Star say. I looked from where I was leaning, and, sure enough, she was on my right. If she's on my right, then that must mean-. I looked up and Marco was looking at me, confused. The realization hit me like a bus. I was leaning my head on Marco's shoulder.

Let's just say the next minute the bus driver nearly hit a stop sign due to a very loud high frequency sound coming from my mouth. I practically jumped out of my seat and switched seats with Star. I curled into a little ball, and pressed my self into the bench, trying to disappear.
