-Rose's POV-

"Next!" said a little pixie. It looked like she was the receptionist at this office. Marco went to stand up but hit his head against the ceiling. Star looked at Marco and said, "Go ahead Marco, pay the nice pixie!"

Marco glared at Star then turned to Alfonzo and Ferguson. It seemed like they forgot to bring money to pay for the mirror. Star seemed to notice because she said, pushing Marco's shoulder, "Marco, did you forget to bring money, like Rose and I did?"

"I was never told too," I said, glaring at Star. But Marco smirked, saying, "No, as a matter of fact, I brought-" he then pulled money out of his shoes and Star sang, sounding a little bit disappointed, "Marco's emergency cash stash!"

I gave her a questioning look, and she just shrugged her shoulders. Marco placed the money on the counter, saying, "This is for the Butterfly account. I think that should cover it. And, uh this is for you," he said, tossing Alfonzo's quarter to the pixie. Was he kissing up to her? He looked at me and winked; I rolled my eyes.

Oh good grief.

"Go buy yourself some of those thimble sized shoe," he said, laughing at his own joke. The pixie, however, took his cash and threw it back at him. She said, smiling sweetly, "I'm sorry sir. We only accept gold and jewels. You'll have to work of the bill in the shard mines."

"We all looked at each other confused, "Shard mines?"

Suddenly, the floor beneath us gave way and we all fell through the hole. As we fell, Star screamed, "Rose! Wings!"

I hesitated, but I started flapping my wings. I grabbed Star's and Marco's wrist. Star grabbed Alfonzo, and we all suspended in midair for a minute.

"Too heavy!" I screamed, as my wings started flapping harder and harder. Suddenly, something heavy hit my back, and i heard Ferguson yell, "Sorry!" That's all it took for me to drop just a little for my wings to give out. We fell all the way to the bottom, Alfonzo first, then Star, then Marco, then me. We heard Ferguson coming down and we braced for impact, but he slid down a ladder. We looked at him and he said, "Hey guys."

"Thanks Rose," said Marco, noticing I was moving my hair to hide my wings. I nodded, not saying anything. However Star took this moment to tease him further, "Wow Marco, I couldn't have "star'd" that one better myself."

Marco scowled and I quickly got off the pile up so that everybody could stand up. We looked around; it was a large cave with large pieces of glass and shards sticking out of the wall. Star started giggling, and Marco glared at her, saying, "Like I was suppose to know to bring jewels."

Just then, a small pixie flew over to us. He seemed to be in charge of the place, and he didn't look like a happy pixie. He smiled at us, as if we were new people for him to beat up. "Welcome to the Shard mines!" he said. He then pointed at us and said, "Now get to pickin'!"

"Okay," said Marco, "I'm sure this is all just a big misunder-"

Before he could finish, the pixie warden started whipping his whip so close to Marco, it looked like it touched him. Marco jumped out of the way, and moved us over to a rack of pickaxes. We all started mining for shards, and Marco looked at me, "Now what?"

"Don't worry, triplet," said Star, "I got this."

"Wait Star!" I said, as she ran up behind the pixie warden. But it was too late. She pulled out her wand and said, "Strawberry annihilation!"
