Midoriya's POV

Todoroki was in front of me in seconds, gently holding my cheeks in his hands. One of his thumbs was much warmer than the other as he wiped away the tears that spilt over. "No, no, no. You haven't caused any trouble at all. We were just worried. We heard you scream from downstairs." Todoroki explained, a look showing something I couldn't quite understand. "No trouble at all. Everyone needs someone to worry about them." Mic spoke from the doorway. I looked at Aizawa as he leaned heavily on the doorframe, looking one breath from a heart attack. Todoroki continued to rub at my cheeks even after the tears had stopped, seemingly looking for anything that might be wrong.

I watched Todoroki's eyes as they flickered back and forth between my own, making me a bit nervous. "Um, I-I'm okay." I mumbled, using one hand to gently push Todoroki back a few steps. I was a little awkward; having so many eyes on me when all I was wearing is a towel was rather embarrassing. "W-With that said, can you get out?" I asked, making sure my towel was still secured around my waist. "Huh?" Todoroki eyes held hurt as he started at me. "I'm, uh, in a towel." I mumbled, keeping my eyes away from them all as heat rushed to my cheeks, undoubtedly making them red.

"Oh! Yeah! Just call if you need anything." Todoroki said, looking me over once again before walking out behind Aizawa. I felt embarrassment wash over me as I looked in the mirror, finding my face tinted red and my ears a much deeper red. I gasped lowly as I saw the torn skin on my ears. They weren't bleeding, but we're missing a couple layers of skin in some places. I felt around my ears, deciding disinfecting them wouldn't be such a bad idea. I grabbed some cotton balls and the rubbing alcohol. I cleaned my ears as best as I could with what I could see.

I sighed as I threw away the used cotton balls, looking in the mirror again. "You are so dumb." I said, looking my reflection in the eye. I shook my head, flipping little droplets of water onto the mirror.

The cool air of the bathroom raised gooseflesh on my arms and sent shivers down my spine. I quickly threw my clothes on, rubbing my hair with my towel. I walked into my room, throwing my towel in the pile of dirty clothing that has slowly been building up. I sighed, not having the motivation to deal with the process of cleaning clothing. I plopped down on the chair next to the desk Aizawa and Mic had been nice enough to supply for me, only to knock off the pen I had left on it. I picked it up, twirling it around my fingers a couple times before setting it down on my desk again. It's my favorite pen. The way it writes is so smooth.

I smiled, looking at the basic black colored pen. 'I wrote my last note with tha-' Before I could even finish my thought, I remembered Todoroki had my note. I could feel the blood drain from my face as I imagined him reading it. I all but ran to my door, flinging it open. I ran down the stairs, skipping a few and almost falling down then a couple times. "Woah, woah. Slow down, little listener. What's the rush?"

I only vaguely heard Mic as I slid into the kitchen, my socks making it slippery. "Todoroki! You still have it, right?!" I asked, feeling nervous enough to puke. Todoroki looked up from his phone, looking confused for a moment before responding. "Your note? Yeah, I have it." Todoroki nodded as he spoke. "A-And no one's read it?" I asked, lowering my voice. "That's right. You said you didn't want anyone reading it, so no one has." Todoroki agreed, still looking rather confused. I sighed, letting the tension in my shoulders drop. "Speaking of, do you have somewhere safe we can burn it?" I asked, turning to Aizawa how was taking a sip of whatever was in his mug. "You can do it in the back yard. There's a small pit there. Just as long as you don't catch the grass on fire." Aizawa replied, his eyes landing on Mic as he said the last part.

"I have an idea." Mic started, looking excited. "Why don't we have a small campfire tonight? We can sit around it and talk under the stars."

I smiled at the idea. "As long as it doesn't rain, that sounds like fun." I nodded as I spoke. Aizawa sighed loudly, but had a small smile pulling at his lips. "I would prefer the rain if it means my grass doesn't get caught on fire." The dark haired man smirked at Mic. "That was ONE time!" Mic shouted, though he obviously wasn't actually upset.

After dinner and as the sun was setting, the four of us made out way outside. We had all gone shopping for marshmallows and chocolate. I was expecting more people to recognize the two heroes that were walking with us, but, with Mic having his hair down and Aizawa being an underground hero, there weren't too many. It turned out to be a rather peaceful trip.

Todoroki lit the fire as Mic and I laid out big blankets. Aizawa held the treats as he filled a bucket with water from the hose. Mic told us the story about how he lit the grass on fire, Aizawa putting in his two cents every once in a while. Todoroki and I laughed as Mic told his story with his hands and big gestures. We all talked for a while before the conversation died down.

Todoroki laid on his back with his hands behind his head, looking up at the sky. Due to the city being relatively close, there weren't a whole lot of stars but the night sky was pretty enough on its own. I sat next to him, watching the fire as it crackled and popped. Aizawa and Mic we're having a quiet conversation, giggles coming from both of them every now and then.

My eyes started feeling a bit heavy. I watched the fire for a bit longer before nudging Todoroki's let with my foot. He looks at me, letting me know I had his attention. "Can I have it?" I whispered, not wanting to disturb the other two. Todoroki shifted and pulled the paper out of his back pocket and sitting up before handing out to me. I took it, almost tempted to open it. I ran my thumb along the paper, deciding I didn't want to read it.

I threw it in the slowly dying fire, watching as it was consumed. Oddly enough, watching the paper curl in on itself before turning black and falling apart, was rather satisfying. Almost freeing. It was weird, but burning the few pieces of paper felt like a huge weight off my shoulders.

It didn't take long before the fire turned to embers and the cool night air was a bit too cool. Aizawa dumped the bucket of water in the pit as the rest of us folded up blankets and made sure we didn't leave any trash. By the time we were heading back inside, I was barely able to keep my eyes open. "That was a good idea, Mic. It was really relaxing." I said, yawning at the end of my sentence. Todoroki nodded along with me while Aizawa walked straight upstairs, obviously exhausted.

We said our good night's, before Todoroki followed me to my room and plopping on my bed. I laughed before taking off my shirt. I looked down at my arms, checking for blood spots. Without seeing any, I decided I would change them when I woke up. I finished changing into clothes more suitable for sleep before climbing into bed next to Todoroki. He was still awake and moved over to give me some room. Todoroki curled up next to me, wrapping his arms around me. The bi-colored teen was nice and warm, making me release a sigh of comfort as I snuggled into him.

"I don't know how I would sleep without this." Todoroki mumbled into my hair, sighing contently afterward. All it took was that sentence for it to really hit me. What I was going to leave behind. How much I was going to hurt Todoroki. How much I would have missed this. I felt my eyes burn with unshed tears. I held my breath in an attempt to keep back the tears. It worked until I had to breath. All it took was a single breath for the dam to break.
