Todoroki's POV
I felt Midoriya's head rock back and forth, nodding his head to the statement. "Okay. I'd like you to be as honest as you possibly can. If you feel uncomfortable at anytime, just say so and we will put the questions on pause. I will be asking questions about your physical and mental state, do you understand?" Dr. Maiko asked, sitting down in the chair I had spent most of my day in. Midoriya nodded against my chest again. "He nodded." I replied, knowing that he couldn't have seen that from where he was. Dr. Maiko sighed, getting up and moving to the other side.
"Alright. Where does your body hurt the most?" I felt the greenette shift further into me as the questioning started. "My head and fore arms." Midoriya mumbled, simply, though his voice was unstable and very shaky. "If you were to rate your mental health on a scale of one to ten, one being 'I would jump off the bridge all over again,' and ten being, 'I regret ever trying, I'll never, without a doubt, do it again,' where would you put yourself?" I felt the hands resting on my back, grip my shirt before completely letting go as Midoriya started sitting up.
The look on his face made the whole room feel colder, it was so blank and he looked so miserable. "I want to shred my skin into threads, fall asleep, and never wake up again. I don't know if I should consider that a one, or a flat zero." Midoriya replied, his eyes brimming with tears as the stared at the bed, an almost insane look on his eyes. I felt my eyes widen, the thought alone making my eyes fill with tears and the urge to puke rise to my throat. I threw myself around Midoriya's quivering figure, holding him firmly, but not tight enough to hurt him too badly. Dr. Maiko's face said everything. He was terrified to continue the questioning, but at the same time, wanted to help.
I shoved my face into his hair, moving my legs so that he was sat in between them. "Mine." I mumbled, holding Midoriya as close to me as possible. "Huh?" Resounded from more than one person in the room. I held him tighter, afraid that if I let go, I would lose him.
I lifted my head out of his hair, "Mine!" I shouted, gently hooking my legs around Midoriya's, pulling them up to us. "No, he doesn't belon-" "MINE." I cut the nurse off, stuffing my face back into the curly green hair in front of me. I felt the shivering from Midoriya slowly stop as his body relaxed against my own. "Yeah. Your's." Midoriya sighed, sounding relieved before hooking his hands up and over my arms that were wound around his waist. "Hehe!" I giggled, an evil plan to release the tension crossing my mind. "Mine." I stated, planting a kiss on the back of his neck. "Your's."
I smirked, starting to kiss everywhere I could reach, saying "Mine!" each time my lips left his skin. After the first few, I felt Midoriya starting to wiggle and a few more after that, his laughter started filling the room. "S-Stop, Sho! Th-That TickLES! AHH HAHAHAHAHA!! NNUU!! EEEH!!!" Midoriya squealed, trying to pry himself out of my grip, laughing as he squirmed around, tugging gently at my arms. Midoriya squirmed and laughed as I attacked his neck with feather light kisses, his laughing only interrupted with squeals. I stopped, resting my head on his shoulder, smiling to myself, happy I was able to make him laugh. I listened as his laughter slowed to small smile. "One to ten?" I asked, hoping that by any luck, he was feeling better than zero.
"Mmm. I'm not sure if I'm more one or two." Midoriya said, giving me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled wider, pulling my boyfriend in closer. "That's still not good." Dr. Maiko stated, making the mood fall again. "Well, it's better than zero, so it's okay." I replied, nuzzling my nose into Midoriya's neck, kissing it again. "Plus, I'd rate this boy a ten any day." I mumbled, kissing just under Midoriya's ear, making shivers run up his spine. I received a hard smack to my right thigh. "Don't say stuff like that. It's embarrassing." Midoriya mumbled his cheeks a light pink, running his hand over the part of my thigh he smacked, almost like he was trying to sooth it. "Well, damn. If you can smack like that then I don't have anything to worry about, you'll be fine." A familiar gruff voice spoke. "Oh! Oh... H-Hi Aizawa..."
"You should really thank your dad here. If he hadn't started CPR as soon as he had, you probably wouldn't have made it." Dr. Maiko stated, flipping over the page, looking over it as he spoke. "Anyway, do you feel any numbness anywhere?"
"Uh, no, not anywhere unusual." Midoriya replied, after moving around a little bit more. "I see that you had been prescribed Bupropion, have you been taking that?" I was confused as to what they were talking about, I had never seen Midoriya taking anything other than pain killer and vitamins. "Uh... No. I haven't." Midoriya mumbled, looking down. "Well, I can prescribe you a months worth, but you need to talk to your doctor about getting on a plan for it." Midoriya nodded, a wet drop falling onto my bare arms. "Wait, what's Bupropion? Like, a pain killer?" I asked, feeling lost in the conversation. "It's his anti-depressant medication. Which, by the fucking way, I could have Sworn I gave you those."
"K-Kacchan!" Midoriya yelped, looking at the door. "Sorry, we're late. We got here as fast as we could." A woman that looked practically identical to Bakugo said, walking in to the room. "Au-Auntie! Uh, nice to... see you?" Midoriya said, more of a question than a statement. I was confused. 'His aunt looks a lot like Bakugo. Are they actually cousins? What the fuck?' I thought, feeling more lost than before. "You must be Mitsuki Bakugo." Dr. Maiko said, standing up and greeting her. "Yes, I am. When can Izuku leave?" The woman, Mrs. Bakugo, asked, getting straight to the point. "I'd like to keep him at least one more night, just as a precaution, though he really should stay at an Institute until he's better." Dr. Maiko stated, looking through the clipboards contents as he spoke. "Here's a card for the one we work with. They are top of the line, I promise."
I felt Midoriya tense as Mrs. Bakugo took the card from him. "Katsuki." Is all the blonde woman said before handing the card to Bakugo and watch as it burned from the small explosions created in the blonde teen's hand. "I believe in his record it says that, that is a horrible idea and only seems to make it worse." Mrs. Bakugo stated, before turning and looking at Midoriya. The greenette kept his head down as he tried covering the bandages on his arms with my arms. "Izuku, Darling. Tell me what happened." Midoriya flinched back into me as she spoke, not a single sound leaving his lips. The blonde woman waited a bit, being patient with Midoriya and his situation. "Fine, why don't you come stay with us for the time being?" Her voice was soft, but stern.
"NO! Wait, I, uh, I mean, n-no thank you Auntie!" Midoriya shouted, being kind of loud for his normal. "You're not staying alone, are ya?" She asked, eyebrows raised. "No, no! That's not even an option right now." Midoriya chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head. "'Not an option', huh?" She asked, looking at me with threatening eyes. "I- uh, I- you see- look, I- ugh! Never mind." Midoriya tried explaining before giving up and cuddling back into me. "Midoriya's staying with me and my spouse." Aizawa stated, looking proud and almost a bit lively. "Oh, then that's fine. Visiting hours are technically up though, so we should probably be heading out." Mrs. Bakugo stated, turning towards the door before ruffling Midoriya's hair. "Hang in there and come visit sometime. Maybe introduce me to your boyfriend, yeah?" I was a bit surprised at the calmer attitude as she spoke before walking out.
Midoriya's head hung low as he sat between my legs, though his ears were red. I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder again. "You okay?" I asked quieter than normal, not wanting to frighten him. "I guess. I just really didn't want to wake up after that." Midoriya spoke, shrugging his shoulders. He turned a bit to rest his head on my chest. "Yeah, okay. Do you need anything? I can run and get some food, just don't tell anyone if you want anything from outside the hospital." Aizawa asked, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I really need to pee, but other than that, I think I'm good." Midoriya mumbled, hugging me lightly. Aizawa and I chuckled, agreeing on helping him to the bathroom. When he was done, we ended up getting him a small chocolate shake, letting him relax, because tomorrow wouldn't be at all near the meaning of 'peaceful'.
