Chapter Six

Warning: violence

I arrive at my apartment unlock the door and immediately plop on the couch I send a quick text to Tony letting him know I'm safe. Today has been eventful. I only sit for a minute before I start changing Veritys bowls. Once again I feel the furry presence at my feet, I look down and smile.

"Hi beautiful girl." I say in a high pitched voice.

"How was your day today?" I get no reply just a head tilt.

"Well I had an AMAZING day. I met my mates. You're going to love them V." This time I get a small mrow in response. I laugh and place her food down.

I decide to text Elise to make sure today went smoothly.

Hey girly just wanted to make sure everything went well today and that you remembered to lock up (:

It's only a couple of minutes before I get a response saying everything was good and she triple checked the door. I send her a quick thanks and goodnight before turning to the kitchen to whip up a quick batch of chocolate chip cookies. Since I didn't grab anything from the bakery I'll want to bring them for George tomorrow. While the cookies are baking I turn on Game of Thrones.

After a bit the cookies are done and I laugh seeing just how much I made. I think I went a little overboard but is there really an overboard with chocolate chip cookies? No.

Once the cookies are away in a container I make my way to my bedroom to change. I wear the same jumpsuit, mask, and gloves as before and use the same weapons. I have quite a few to choose from but I like what I've been working with lately. I also restock my belt with a bunch of different handy items. You never know what you're gonna need.

I check my phone for the time:
9:36

Shit I should go. I lock my apartment up and leave through the window down the fire escape.

I arrive just on time and see Xavier waiting next to a stop sign. When he sees me he smiles and walks towards me with his arms out, I give him a good squeeze and he laughs when I do.

"Great job yesterday, you seriously kick ass." He praises me.

"You didn't do too bad yourself. Plus we wouldn't have even been there if your big brain hadn't figured out the encryption." I add.

"We couldn't have done without the other. We make a good team Yanis." Xavier says honestly.

"Awww don't get mushy on me now." I playfully push him.

"But in all seriousness I agree. You make doing this a lot easier. I don't think I would be half the huntress I am today without you. But enough with the sentimentals what are we doing today?"

"I figured that since we finished a mission yesterday we could go around building hopping and see what we can find." Xavier suggests.

"Ooo I love a good free for all." I say clapping my hands together.

"Let's get the fuck outta here!" I say excitedly. I climb up the side of a building using sheer Siren strength. Xavier pulls out a grappling hook pistol and sends himself up. We both start moving from rooftop to rooftop on cat like feet. He continues to use his grappling hook while I run and jump. I can't help but laugh and enjoy the feeling when I'm jumping from one building to another. It feels like freedom.
